• Dead Rising 3 going the way of Resident Evil 6; Attempting to appeal to the CoD audience.

It does still look like a fun zombie game, maybe it will be more like State of Decay? Also, maybe Los Perdidos(where ever they are) is now home to a new game show where people try to survive and can call in air strikes or supplies if they do good. [editline]value[/editline] Never mind, wikipedia says the plot is:
Dead Rising 3 takes place ten years after the events of Fortune City in Dead Rising 2. The story follows a young mechanic named Nick Ramos and his attempt to survive a massive zombie outbreak in the fictional city of Los Perdidos, California. Ramos must team up with other survivors and find a way to escape Los Perdidos before an impending military strike wipes out the city and its inhabitants
So I guess Nick has friends in the military or something...
Looks like it'd be good for like, twenty bucks. That part where he called artillery at the end was the most fucking moronic thing I have ever seen. I'M ALL ALONE IN THE CITY FILLED WITH ZOMBIES OH SHIT I'M SURROUNDED BETTER RUN TO MY TABLET/WINDOWS 8 COMPUTER AND CALL A FUCKING BOMBING RUN
*Tapes flashlight under gun's muzzle to slide* "That'll work" No it fucking won't!
Is Capcom literally trying to kill every single franchise they own?
Am I the only person that didn't play Dead Rising for the comedic value, but for the fact it's one of the greatest zombie sandbox games to have ever been created? Really, even if this new game is more serious, it still plays the same and that is by far good enough for me. I still don't agree with what Capcom is doing, but regardless; I wouldn't let that stop me from having fun with it.
Capcom was never really a good company anyway, I was just waiting for something like this to happen to the franchise. (opinion)
you sure about that, even in the 90's? They were considered some of the best arcade game makers ever
Pretty much everyone who knows and loves Dead Rising series. It just doesn't even look like Dead Rising now.
I watched a gamespot video on it and it seems like silly and wacky weapons are still in it which is pretty fucking dumb. Just make a silly and wacky game if you're going to include silly and wacky things. Silly things+Realistic Presentation aimed to immerse you in the world don't mix well.
What the fuck is this idiot talking about "Appeal to the CoD audience"? How is it trying to appeal to the audience of a completely different game series if they change a few things that CoD happens to use too? So every game with a muted color tone, 'serious story tone', and a 'realistic' approach is mimicking Call of Duty and trying to attract it's fan base? It's not like there's killstreaks and tactical items (I.E. UAV, Predator Missiles). Additionally how the fuck is Resident Evil 6 anything like Call of Duty? Because it's more action orientated than the previous titles? All they did was perfect what they were trying to do in RE4 and RE5. That guy really needs to pull his head out of his ass. I'm amazed that a 30 year old looking editor is bashing something like a 13 year old fanboy who just got his ass kicked on Xbox Live. That guy really needs to grow the fuck up.
I wonder what made them think that it'd be a good idea to both try alienating the fans of the first two games with smearing brown all over the game and making it an exclusive for the platform that is already going to tank hard.
I want a Dead Rising in a theme park, like the Uranus Zone but 10x bigger with rides you can control and shit. That would be amazing.
I would have been okay with the different art style and it going more gritty AS LONG AS it was just as silly and retarded as the past 2, with more realistic graphics I think it would be pretty hilarious to be the classic Dead Rising demi god, throwing zombies around and driving motorbikes with chainsaws on them But the moment he said "lets find a way to distract the zombies" at the E3 reveal I knew this was going to be bad When the fuck do you distract zombies in Dead Rising? when is that even a plan? you don't distract them and run away you tear the blades out of a lawnmower, strap them to your head and run right through the fuckers
What the fuck is artillery doing in a Dead Rising game?
Don't diss muh epic killstreakz brah, or I'm going to release a youtube video of me 360 noscoping hordes of zombies with your face poorly posed over them, while I casually speak in the background with my thirteen year old voice, discussing how based I am and how much I get laid (which is more than you).
Compare with Dead Rising 1: By comparison, Nick looks like a pussy.
I still haven't played DR1 completely. Never bought a console so played in round a friends hoise. They should re-release it for other platforms.
I still haven't played DR1 completely. Never bought a console so played in round a friends hoise. They should re-release it for other platforms.
Perhaps we get a Dead Rising 4K release with Dead Rising 1 and 2 in 4K resolution :v:
Well you could throw firecrackers down I guess.
I usually only used firecrackers to put more of them in 1 spot so I could kill even more zombies :v: It was never a "quick throw these down and run like a bitch" thing
I still haven't played DR1 completely. Never bought a console so played in round a friends hoise. They should re-release it for other platforms.
There was a very meh-at-best port to iOS, and that was it.
SO VISCERAL! CAN'T WAIT.
It looks like it would be a good game if it was on its own but the silliness was always my favourite part of the Dead Rising series.
[t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/1082261932620799288/E8BF0D028387A5B15C618164A16FB0E61C11313C/[/t] THIS is Dead Rising. Shit they showed us on E3 isn't.
The whole concept of calling in artillery is absolute dumb and a plot hole - If the military is more than capable of bombing the city at any time, why haven't they just started firebombing the entire place to get rid of the zombies? It's what they did with Fortune City.
Because Mr. Nick Ramos, Mechanic. Is in charge of the military now. Derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Yes lets take a game that's loved for being campy and over the top and make it all serious.
And why does this new character feel the need to shout out loud every thought that passes his mind, during a zombie apocalypse.
My main complaint about this game is I won't be able to play it because it's Xbox One exclusive. Judging from the gameplay it still looks pretty fun too. This is just the first footage they are showing: the first footage of Dead Rising 2 looked really dull too if I recall correctly. Also: what's with the people getting worked up that the 'tactical' pistol won't work? Does it matter in a game series like Dead Rising? A lot of the craftable weapons in Dead Rising 2 didn't make sense either, and that never mattered. I think we'll have to wait and see further media on this to see if it's lost the Dead Rising charm or if it's going to be any good. I still just wish we could have Dead Rising 1 on PC!
You know, despite all of the bullshit surrounding the xbox one, when I first saw that Dead Rising 3 was an exclusive a teensy little slightly irrational part of me felt regretful for the fact that I wouldn't be buying the new system; solely for the fact that one of the most novel, fun franchises I've ever had the pleasure to play was now out of my reach. But, now, I can honestly say that the single thing that so much as sparked my interest about the xbone is dead. Thanks Capcom, you and Microsoft have taught me how important the taste of the majority of consumers is to the quality of the product, i.e. if everyone buys the shitty game they will make more shitty games. [editline]13th June 2013[/editline]
And why does this new character feel the need to shout out loud every thought that passes his mind, during a zombie apocalypse.
There seems to be a misconception that "yelling a lot about whats happening" = a personality.
CoD has ruined a generation of games. Now everyone is trying to take a piece of the cake by being a copy cat
I don't see what's so 'Call of Duty' about Dead Rising 3. They've went for a less colourful world which is a shame, but that's nothing to do with Call of Duty. From some of the posts you would think the game is now a generic FPS where you fight enemy soldiers.

Shit they showed us on E3 isn't.
First hand confirmation from E3 players -banana hammocks -blanka mask -shark outfit Man I want it to be classic DR so bad, I hope the graphics are the only changes, I can live with tactic00l guns and missles as long as the retarded shit is still there Also pretty confident that this will be a timed exclusive, why would they go from Xbox exclusive to all platforms and then to Xbox exclusive? unless they are actually as retarded as we think they are
I think it looks fine and dandy but the graphics are horrific.
Another series ruined, gg Shitcom.
This is like ordering a steak and getting a cheeseburger simply because the waiter assumed you would like a cheeseburger because it is sold more. I want what I fucking paid for. If I wanted a cheeseburger I would just buy one.
good thing you don't have to buy this game and nobody is forcing you to then "capcom isn't making the dead rising i like to see!!" holds exactly 0 merit [editline]e[/editline] i don't think this is a positive step in the series but it still looks like it's gonna be a good game, shoehorned-in ipad usage integration or not
Been playing through DR2: OTR, and the cutscenes have the same tone as the DR3 gameplay. I forgot how serious it is in its context, but how fun the gameplay is outside of the story. Of course, you can completely ruin this:
