Told you guys it was warented
-snip-
Nothing to see here folks, just me being an uninformed dumbass. Carry on with the discussion.
Sorry for my ignorance.
"I'm only punching you in the face repeatedly and tripping your preggers girlfriend to boot. What you so bent out of shape about?"
Seriously, fuck this guy. He in no way deserves to keep his job. Yeah let me tell you, a lady who is 7 and a half months pregnant is TOTALLY going to kick the shit out of you when shes scared shitless.
Fucking asshole.
The cop is busy dealing with the guy on the ground who is resisting and trying to ingest the evidence, and he sees someone coming towards him yelling to stop.
Moreover, who gives a fuck if the person is pregnant; it's on her not to put herself (and her unborn child) in dangerous situations, not the cops to be nicer just because someone is pregnant. But no, she decided the best way to keep her children safe is to go to a drug deal, then run over to some cops trying to arrest someone who is resisting while yelling for them to stop.

Being pregnant does not make you less threatening. Only a white knight would think that. Plus it is equally insulting to assume that her medical condition renders her complete useless.
She can still be holding a weapon, she could have as one. We don't know her or her intentions. A cop cannot afford to become complacent nor can they afford to make assumptions.

Why cameras on police officers isn't compulsory yet is beyond me. It would be an easy solution to stop behaviour like this, provided that it would be hard to tamper with them.

Maybe that is true, but did it really necessitate tripping her and making her fall face first? I just have a hard time picturing what a 7 month pregnant lady would have to do to make such a response necessary. Maybe the police officer was doing his job, but the whole thing seems really brutal.
But evidently I don't know shit about an officer's job so I shouldn't be judging. I apologize for my previous post, I effectively made an ass out of myself.

The statement from the police was made at least an hour before your post and it specifically mentions she came towards them and they knocked her back, not knowing her intentions, and she fell over.
It's not like a policeman crouched behind her as another pushed her over his back. It was an accident. Sure, knocking over pregnant people isn't a good thing, but they acted in a way I fully understand. They were already busy, then an unknown person comes at them. They don't know what she wanted from them or what she planned to do.

Knowing that, I really can't blame them for the response they gave. I just hope the woman and the baby are ok. Did they say if the suspect was in bad shape at all?

Well, there it is.

You have to keep in mind that police officers can't just 'assume' "oh she's a pregnant female, don't worry about her" when they don't know what they're dealing with or if a person has a concealed weapon (a pregnant female can still use a knife or a gun.) So they have to respond to a certain measure to protect themselves in a worst case scenario but gauged appropriately to the current presentation of an assaultee (et not gunning down an unarmed person charging them).
Well, there it is.
Well....fuck me then.
What a shitty situation. I can only apologize to the officers I bashed. I'm glad that they did their job at the very least despite all of the bullshit.
Also, child abuse charges? What the fuck?

I'm aware of that, but I figured if she made a move towards them with a weapon of some sorts, the article would have stated as such.
Still, that doesn't excuse the stupidity and outright ignorance of my first post. Again, I'm sorry for misunderstanding the situation.
Ahh I'm so glad we have the media to tear up cases like this, keeps public accountability in check.
