Empire is the black sheep in terms of not fixing the game. And if today's beta patch for Rome II is any indication, they're either
A) going to fix any future messes they have with their games.
or
B) Try to prevent those messes in the first place.
or
C) Both A and B.
They better do it because the only thing I am missing in Strategy games is feeling like Napoleon or Friedrick II
haha, I feel you.
Today I had a really great Rome II settlement defense battle. Like wow, it was tough. It was a close defeat on my end.
I still don't see any reason to get Rome 2 to be honest when Rome 1 has tons of great mods that look nearly as good as Rome 2 and have better gameplay.

Lol they actually reuse the ladders now. I might have to play the game with both of my eyes open from now on.

In my Pontus campaign I had to face down 3 Parthian armies at a Settlement I took from them. It was roughly 7000 men vs my 2300.
The AI had two arms of their assault, the main frontal one (which I held off well), and the flanking one. The flanking arm destroyed me, and the reinforcing armies moved up to that side and took full advantage of the situation. It was a good battle. The best settlement battle I've seen out of Total War AI.

They aren't even the same companies.
I wish they released a patch to allow the grand campaign to be played in multiplayer over the internet or LAN instead of just hotseat.
Aww man, just tried to find my disc but all I could see was the soundtrack.
Edit:
Found it. Looks like you get all the DLC too (including Kingdoms):

You get Kingdoms for free even if you don't have it? That's nice considering I have Kingdoms but no key for some reason.
You saying Dawn of Wars 2 now supports Steamworks?
Dow2 retribution has supported steamworks since the beginning. dow2 and soulstorm were patched to have it.
You guys should try playing rome 1 again and comparing how fast paced the battles are, it's quite crazy.
This is nice and all, but how I activate my mods now? The launcher used to have my mods for damns sake.

This means I can finally play the single player without having GfWL being a bitch?
my Rome Total War CD key from 10 years ago registers on Steam now... amazing
Am I missing something? I have the Rome: Total War - Gold Edition but there is no key inside the box lol. I did play it like a year ago. I think I just had to install it and didn't ask for a key?
You should have been provided a gamespy key for Multiplayer purposes.
Now they just need to add coop campaigns to them. A man can dream.
woo
think ill boot it up again and conquer the world using poland
or finish my other save and conquer europe with portugal, i already have the iberian peninsula under my iron grip
