CNN Anchors Pretend They’re Having a “Satellite Interview” Even Though They’re in the Same Parking L
They invested in metaphorical mining equipment and started digging as soon as they hit rock bottom
Yes, but do they have any low budget 3d graphics that they can show in tandem with their astonishing greenscreen technology in order to describe this metamorphic mining equipment to us lowly plebs?
lol Nancy Grace
And people are so quick to slam Fox yet CNN has garbage like her and Piers.
people are quick to slam fox because fox is intellectually dishonest and purposefully manipulates news stories en masse to promote a massively partisan agenda. CNN is just a mediocre national news station embarrassing itself with a lack of professionalism
Wait why would they fake that it's a satellite interview in the first place, so it doesn't look biased or something?
I'm missing something here.
It's never a clever thing to exactly believe in everything they say on TV.

News companies seem to think it's interesting to have people ~in the field~ even when there isn't really a field to be in. Like how they get people reporting from just outside a courtroom they aren't allowed in, as if that somehow gives them access to more information even though it blatantly doesn't.
Reminds me of something that happened in my news area a few years ago

reminds me of this time that channel 9 (australian channel) was reporting the news i think it was flooding from a helicopter but the helicopter was actually stationary and still on channel 9's helipad
the helicopter news reporter got suspended :v:
Jon Stewart's gonna love this.
Jon Stewart already makes fun of green screen reporting, like all the time.
Usually in the form of a correspondent claiming to be at locations, Jon pointing out inconsistencies in the background, and the correspondent ensuring him that they are definitely actually on the scene for real.
this is literally the worst thing that has ever happened ever cnn needs to be taken to an international criminal court over this i think
how do we stand for this kind of thing it is indicative of all american news media and even americans themselves i think we need an armed rebellion against cnn
it almost seems like the woman on the right is infront of a green screen, notice how the woman on the left's hair moves in the wind.
What was the point of this?
What was the point of this?
field reporters have more perceived credibility than ones in a studio because they are supposedly out there asking real people the tough questions and getting up to date info.
perceived credibility is very important for journalism.
who cares
What, using green screens while reporting on the news is rock bottom? You guys have high standards, rock bottom to me would be blatant lying about the facts
lol i guess you don't watch american news
The Atlantic should be seriously embarrassed by this story. The authors obviously have no experience with TV production. The two on air personalities were both covering the Jodi Arias trial for their own different shows on their own different networks. It was no secret that they were both at the Arias trial. They weren't trying to pretend they were somewhere they weren't.
This is how TV production, and press camps in particular, work. There are hundreds of journalists set up in the same general location. Each network, and sometimes each show, has its own little production area, its own crew, its own equipment, its own makeup, its own catering, etc. It's a lot easier when two hosts want to talk to each other, to just stay in their own area, and use the same equipment that is already set up, with the same audio levels, and the same white balance, etc... and just do a link with a split screen.
Later in the show Ashleigh did a 4-way split screen with another HLN host in the same parking lot, another CNN reporter right across the street, and another in a Phoenix studio. It happens all the time simply because of the logistics of TV production, and not an intent to deceive.
It's ironic how cable “news” networks are rarely called out when they are actually being deceptive, but they are called deceptive when they are not.
Just a reddit circlejerk breaking into the mainstream.
Just a reddit circlejerk breaking into the mainstream.
But alternative media like Reddit is so much better, didn't you see how they caught the Boston Bombers as well as several people who weren't the Boston Bombers, and not the former?
It's lying, but it's not exactly harmful in this particular case, no real reason to get angry or laugh.

I don't mind raising awareness about journalistic misconduct though, in fact I encourage it.
Seriously, she really does know how to make news annoyingly sensationalist.

What the fuck is wrong with the news media in America?
It's not news. Mostly biased opinion pieces that are called news.
It would be fucking great if the FCC required 'news programs' to be actual journalistic integrity news.
Aren't they just both on a greenscreen and they used the same footage for both?

[del]People who watch the news expecting the news channels to be factual reporters and not people who bullshit?[/del]
Oh it seems they wern't acting like they were in different places. Moving along...
Reminds me of Conan's "satellite interviews" on a hilariously obvious greenscreen and when the interview's finished the guy walks right through the studio even if he's supposed to be on the other side of the world.
Found an example:
Aren't they just both on a greenscreen and they used the same footage for both?
Nah, you see a truck go close by the person being interviewed, and a second later you see it come onto the screen on the other side and turn towards Nancy Grace.
