I can't think of any reason that a serious actor would want to be in this film other than for the paycheck. I heard michael fassbender's name being banded around for the male role in the film. Why on earth would he do it? Is it because he was in Shame?
Serious actors get serious by getting their faces out there. Just by dint of knowing this you're already helping out Emma Watson's post harry potter career. Also I really hate the premise of 50 shades but want to see Emma Watson nude... what to do....
Meh
Serious actors get serious by being in serious movies, not mum porn.
psh fuck that, serious dosh is worth way more than serious seriousness. Just look at Nick Cage's career, he'd probably take a role in this movie if they'd let him... I wonder who the male lead is...
Serious actors get serious by being in serious movies, not mum porn.
What serious movies? There are none. They're ALL for pure entertainment.

I don't even understand how a fifty shades of grey movie would work. It would just be a porno that's pretending to have a story.
I wouldn't call Nick Cage a serious actor.
But you can't deny he's seriously loaded. I'm genuinely interested to hear who you do consider a serious actor and all the things that being 'serious' implies. [editline]6th October 2012[/editline]
What serious movies?
But you can't deny he's seriously loaded. I'm genuinely interested to hear who you do consider a serious actor and all the things that being 'serious' implies.
I'm pretty sure I remember reading that he went bankrupt a year ago so no, he's not seriously loaded. I consider a serious actor someone who appears in films for either the love of acting or the love of entertaining, not the love of money, perhaps someone who has performed on stage as well. An example of a serious actor is Ian Mckellen.
wow i suddenly take back everything bad I said about 50 shades of gray if i get to see E-watz naked, then it's totally worth it
From what I've been told, this book everyone keeps talking about pretty much takes place in and around the town I live in. :q: Oh wait, Vancouver is a dump. :C
Don't do it Emma; you're better than this upcoming drivel. Don't degrade yourself by participating in this madness...
I too feel uneasy that a female actor today is apparently obliged to appear nude on film.
I love how the article says nothing about her considering the role and even says that she denies having anything to do with the movie, but it still spins it to sound like she is considering it. Very sneaky. [editline]6th October 2012[/editline]
I too feel uneasy that a female actor today is apparently obliged to appear nude on film.
Umm, what? That's not what he was talking about, and there are plenty of actresses who have never appeared nude on film.
I too feel uneasy that a female actor today is apparently obliged to appear nude on film.
50 shades of gray is basically porn, how do you expect whoever gets the part not to take their clothes off?
I understand the taste in getting nude for a role in a good movie. But I've seen what's in this book. She might as well just degrade herself into the porn industry.
This reminds me that one time I was browsing some site, and there was a porn ad for "Fifty Shades of Grey: XXX Adaptation." I thought to myself, "Is it even possible to not make a XXX adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey? You know, since it's a fucking porn novel?"
How can you make a movie that's anything less than a straight-up porno from a book like 50 shades?
What serious movies? There are none. They're ALL for pure entertainment.
then you clearly know shit about film, if I can risk sounding like a pretentious piece of shit. seriously what a completely retarded thing to say. many movies serve to give a message through art. it's not just pure entertainment.
who is to say that her nude body won't be altered in some way? Olivia Wilde's tits were replaced with a different set of tits in the movie "The Change Up" (where Ryan Reynolds swaps bodies with some other guy). I'd have a feeling they would do the same for a movie adaptation of an erotic book.
they're making a movie? good god
I got six pages in and had to put it down, and read the plot section off of Wikipedia to feign to my girlfriend that I'd read it. I might hang myself if she tries to drag me to watch it.
oh lord the internet will explode that day
Mmm
Fixed. And you know how Twilight is kinda pretty demeaning towards women? This is probably about 100x more that, from what I've heard.
isn't fifty shades of gray what women get off to though?
isn't fifty shades of gray what women get off to though?
Even if you generalise, no.
She should do porn.
50 shades of gray is basically porn, how do you expect whoever gets the part not to take their clothes off?
I wouldn't expect that. That's preposterous. I would prefer a society in which female actresses are under no coercion to appear nude in any way, no urges for actors to appear in such raunchy films.

The book is about boning. Sometime, someone is going to have to get naked. Whoever signs up for it knows full fucking well that is the case, and will have agreed to be getting naked of their own accord. If they don't want to get naked, they are under no pressure to, but they sure as hell won't be acting in the film.
I fucking get it, if you sign up for the movie you're gonna get naked. Forget the movie for a second. Imagine the movie were never going to occur. Female actors are STILL expected to get naked at some point.
Why wouldn't you want to see her nude (unless you're gay that is).
I do, but why is it mandatory and expected?
