Austrian jihadi bride beaten to death after trying to escape ISIS

Tbh, I'm assuming ISIS targets people in the same way cults do. The things they say sound totally stupid to most people, but to those who feel themselves to be in a bad spot in their lives, it can be a breath of fresh air. If so I am quite sympathetic because rather than getting the help she actually could have used, some vultures swooped in instead.
Its all thanks to natural selection. I say, good riddance.
That's such a typically pretentious thing to say, lol.
The milgram experiment shows normal people will do awful things because an authority tells them to. If a radical cleric can establish himself as an authority (not difficult to do) then... well previously normal people do awful things.
12 year olds (and their 18 year old siblings) have been known to be suicide bombers (and soldiers, again because of authority/manipulation/power) in africa, thats one of the most destructive and self destructive things you can do. They don't do it through logic, its totally illogical, they do it because they are manipulated.
I can only assume you're studying A level psychology this year and so feel like you need to show everyone how smart you are and what you've learnt because that makes no sense. The stretch between the Milgram experiment and knowingly joining a large terrorist organisation is a huge one.
If she's dumb enough to join ISIS then natural selection did it's job. She's dumb and shouldn't pro create. I personally think that we don't need people around that will openly join ISIS because that just means they're fucked up from the get go. Let them weed out all of the idiots so they don't reproduce lol. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that you shouldn't even think about joining ISIS. Furthermore if the thought of joining ISIS is even in your head you need a psychiatric evaluation and should be medicated because something isn't right with someone like that. Let's not waste tax money on rehabilitating these idiots that probably don't even want the help for whatever underlying issue they have to make joining sound appealing. Let them join so the earth is safe from these idiots. No sympathy from me. Cheers :)

Nope just watch a lot of youtube but your assumption that one only knows the milgram experiment from a psychology A level suggests that you might study or have studied A level psychology though.

Except all you did was just clarify just how ignorant you were of the topic, without bothering to consider and read the previous posts within the thread. Nobody in their right mind goes, "Oh hey, an international terrorist organization known for mass murder and horrific war crimes! Sign me up!".
Let's put this in their perspective; imagine being a young devoted Muslim teen in a Western country. Throughout your adolescent life, there have been occasions where you were taunted for being a Muslim; being called a "dirty terrorist" or "towel-head faggot", and being told to "go back to your country". One day, while browsing social media, another Muslim teen(who also happens to be in your local area) adds you on Facebook. You add them, and start talking; you become friends, and they bring up the shared struggle of growing up as a Muslim among racist and xenophobic people. You sympathize and bond with them. Then they suggest that you strive for a greater cause, fighting against the oppression that have held your fellow Muslim brother and sisters in chains. That the real evil is the Westerners, who treat Muslims as second-class citizens, whose beliefs clash against that of the Koran.
And you buy into it. You buy into every second of it because they know exactly which strings to pull, which stories to tell, and what they can do to rope you into their grasp. And that's how these teens are recruited.
Did they make a horrible mistake? Yes. Are they awful people? Not necessarily. A Muslim teen who grows up with more open parents and great friends would never fall for these ruses.
People aren't born dumb; people are brainwashed to make terrible choices.

So how the hell do you suggest we change their minds? If they're already brain washed then chances are they've got their soul set on that task they set out to do. Anyone that tries to stop them will just piss them off. The only thing that could help is intervening and educating really young Muslim/Islam children that not everyone hates them.

All I addressed was that these people aren't "dumb and shouldn't pro create", as according to you.
The problem is literally people like you, who jump to conclusions and clump people according to stereotypes that fit how you see the world.
There's no "fix-all" method that would solve these problems, but the least we can do is try to be open minded and try to understand how they think; maybe then we'll come across good solutions. There is nothing to be gained from immediately antagonizing these victims(yes, victims) of brainwashing. Look at what happened 14 years ago, when we lashed out at Iraq/Afghanistan without really thinking about it. We created a toxic environment for American Muslims, we toppled a regime and left no structure for any remaining government to grow into. Look at what we're doing now. We've reaped what we've sown.
American Muslims have hardly done anything at all, I don't know why you're claiming they're radicalised. The issue is European Muslims.

I used American Muslims as an example for the person I was quoting; it can be easily applied to European Muslims too. Xenophobia isn't exclusive to the US.

I didn't say ALL MUSLIMS are dumb. I said anyone that joins ISIS is dumb and shouldn't reproduce. If you join ISIS I've got no sympathy for you. You reap what you sow. End of fucking story. That's like someone that chooses to swim with hungry sharks if you get bit or eaten that's because you were a dumb ass. It has nothing to do with me, I could care less what people do. And I sure as hell don't care what you think of me. I'm not giving these dumb assess a pity party.

You're free to believe what you want, I'm making a statement to explain the mentality of reasoning for joining an organization like ISIS.
I don't doubt for a second that if you swim with the sharks, you have made a terrible decision. You can't just reason that they jumped in because they were "stupid". The real threat are the recruiting agents who have already integrated themselves into our society, literally poisoning our roots.
Calling them idiots and being done with it won't solve the problem.

What's up with all this "they shouldnt reproduce" shit you've got going on? Do you think people automatically turn into irradiated hybrids or something whenever they join terrorist groups and do other stupid stuff?

Polling has shown that Muslims in certain places hold extremely regressive views. That should be taken into consideration when making decisions that involve those people.

Depends where you look. There's integrated moderate Muslim communities in the UK, France, Germany, and theres also pockets of conservatives or even radicals around too.
Darwin Award contender here.

i think it's just simply another reactionary response from someone who hasn't really put much thought into the subject and is simply speaking their foremost, initial thoughts

What a whirlwind of lunacy this post is. You've somehow manage to promote eugenics, execution of unintelligent people, both expanded and abandoned mental health initiatives, and a complete lack of basic human empathy. Congratulations on submitting one of the years' most confused diatribes on (and arguably an excellent example of) mental health issues.

Actually you have a point about the reproduction part that was stupid on my part. I just got on a rant, I just feel that you reap what you sow. It's sad that someone decides to join ISIS but at the end of the day it's their choice I guess. If you play with fire you may get burnt. I just don't see how people can join without seeing the writing on the wall and all the red flags.

Strength of faith, as Bergson pointed out, manifests itself not in moving mountains but in not seeing mountains move.
