Both games will launch digitally on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Tuesday, July 26. Marvel mentions that the games will have a graphical overhaul and UI upgrades. Executive producer Mike Jones told Marvel.com that, "We wanted these re-releases to be as faithful to the original Ultimate Alliance games as possible — the definitive versions." The two games can be bought individually for $39,99, or in a bundle for $59.99. Notably, this is Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2's first appearance on PC. Marvel Ultimate Alliance first launched in 2006, and its sequel released three years later. In terms of DLC, it's unclear whether they will all be included in the pack. We've sent an inquiry regarding characters that were DLC and platform specific, and whether they will be included here. We'll update once we hear back.
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2016/07/23/marvel-ultimate-alliance-1-and-2-make-their-way-to-current-gen-platforms-next-week.aspx Official Marvel interview here: http://marvel.com/news/video_games/26503/sdcc_2016_marvel_ultimate_alliance
Sweet, I loved the first and never got to play the 2nd one. That's some unexpected good news.
If I remember correctly the original pc port of ultimate alliance 1 was based on the ps2 version, which does explain why they're bringing it back again other than having a reason to put in on steam. I can remember being very confused as to why it didn't look anywhere near as impressive as the console gameplay trailers, will be glad to give the new port a go.
Liked the 2nd game more. The co-op attack mechanic was fun to mix-and-match with other marvel characters and see what the combo does.
When's Marvel [sp]vs. Capcom 3 getting it's DLC re-released . . . . . please . . . . . I never got Shuma or Jill or the alts . . . . MvC2 being released again so that we can have netplay scenes of it again would be nice too, as would MvC and MHvSF[/sp]

I sorta remember being able to throw Wolverine at people w/ Colossus and stuff like that depending on what 2 characters you were.

I got fucked out of my preorder bonus because it had an absurd expiry (christmas day I think, right when I got my ps3 to use it) and the $5 characters were taken off by january for some reason. We're all praying this game releases all of them
This is pretty overpriced, but I'm still looking forward to them. I guess I'll get them on a sale or something.
59.99 (probably 79.99 here) for a 7 and 10 year old game? i'll pass
Oh Boi the nostalgia is gonna be real
40 bucks for games that are 10 and 7 years old respectively? Yeah, screw that. I'll check the price when Steam has a sale.
the price sucks because it'll be harder to find players but they did port a previously console exclusive game and apparently there's graphics upgrades, it depends on if they're that major I guess at least you can get them in a bundle for $60 instead of paying $40 each, still not great though. they shouldve been $20 each imo
Hoping they didn't fuck with the modding. I remember the original had so many extra characters and shit brought in through mods. God what I'd give to have the character select uncapped
I hope they add new costumes. Also there was a sly indirect confirmation that if this does well they're doing a Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. Maybe a little pricy yeah but for two games, especially MUA, its not too bad either. Plus it might include all the DLC for both games (people got fucked with MUA2's DLC being removed from the story permanently) and hopefully the console specific exclusive characters like Black Widow, Moon Knight, Hawkeye, Captain Marvel, and Ronin. I hope. [editline]24th July 2016[/editline] At least its not Dead "I was removed of the store for 2 years then came back exactly the same at 60 bucks for a mediocre 4 hour campaign" pool.
You can get both MUA 1 and 2 off xbox 360 store with all dlc included, so I don't see why they would be any different here. That being said I am very excited to play it again, never got to play the second game.
The fact that it's being announced mere days before release and is overpriced as hell makes me think this is another Prototype re-release situation.
Look at Star Wars re releases, Disney did those too, they turned out great Kotor 2 especially, they made it perfect for modern machines, controller and workshop support too [editline]24th July 2016[/editline] If we're lucky they get those and steam cards, it'd be fantastic
better res of the bundle art [t]http://66.media.tumblr.com/ab5b797256567c92ff01408ca523ae70/tumblr_oasbdnSGe21u7bzp1o1_1280.jpg[/t] I'm on the lookout for screenshots, wish they would've put out some new media even though its just 2 days [editline]25th July 2016[/editline] https://youtu.be/rG5QmszZDHQ?t=2h44m17s here's a live talk about the game at the SDCC stream [editline]25th July 2016[/editline] "It's all the original versions of the games, right, so we're gonna have maybe some more announcements later about the other content.. but its all faithful recreations of the original versions of the game" welp fuck this price point [editline]25th July 2016[/editline] I dunno who he is, hopefully he was just not sure [editline]25th July 2016[/editline] "No word on price yet, but they did mention that it wold include most of the DLC that was originally available." http://comicbook.com/marvel/2016/07/21/marvel-ultimate-alliance-1-2-coming-to-current-gen-consoles/ conflicting info, lets hope for the best
59.99 (probably 79.99 here) for a 7 and 10 year old game? i'll pass
I don't think you realize how COMPLETELY FUCKING AMAZING these game are.
After the Prototype bundle ports I wouldn't give my fucking hopes up and even then the price is ridiculous.
I don't think you realize how COMPLETELY FUCKING AMAZING these game are.
These are supposedly the original versions, just with DLC added. I don't care how fucking amazing they apparently are, if it really is just that, 40 euros for such a lazy rerelease is bullshit.
and no one is locking you to a desk and making you purchase them.
These are supposedly the original versions, just with DLC added. I don't care how fucking amazing they apparently are, if it really is just that, 40 euros for such a lazy rerelease is bullshit.
It quite clearly says they're HD remasters, so they're not the original versions. [editline]25th July 2016[/editline] Its unclear how extensive that is anyway. MUA2 could just have crisper textures, while MUA1 might have brand new models because that game comparatively looks like ass. It looks fine for what it is but the models would look like ASS today.
After the Prototype bundle ports I wouldn't give my fucking hopes up and even then the price is ridiculous.
Why do people keep mentioning prototype? Does Disney own it or something? Think about the super good Star Wars ones they've done, it's more relevant [editline]25th July 2016[/editline]
These are supposedly the original versions, just with DLC added. I don't care how fucking amazing they apparently are, if it really is just that, 40 euros for such a lazy rerelease is bullshit.
Yeah the DLC that's been unavailable for like 6 years Plus PC debut and remastery [editline]25th July 2016[/editline] Each character was $5 and only available for like 3 months
So uh. Where is it? Still doesn't have a store page on steam.
Each character was $5 and only available for like 3 months
Yeah, I vaguely remember hearing about that. Man, what a shitshow.
So uh. Where is it? Still doesn't have a store page on steam.
I'd wager it'll show up at 1PM EST on Steam, which is usually when the store updates (sales and some new releases do, unless they set up midnight release in advance). I'd wager consoles will be available at their store's update/maintenance time aswell. I have a reminder/alarm set for 1pm [editline]26th July 2016[/editline] 10 am pacific is what valve writes on news such as "offer ends at", which is also 1pm est
Fuck paying this much for these games. They're fun, but they're also like seven years old.
[editline]26th July 2016[/editline] Ps4 players are reporting that MUA1 is missing DLC but MUA2 is not [editline]26th July 2016[/editline] [editline]26th July 2016[/editline] Already a petition going https://www.change.org/p/marvel-give-us-the-gold-edition-characters-in-the-marvel-ultimate-alliance-remaster [editline]26th July 2016[/editline] http://store.steampowered.com/sub/116197/
I played the crap out of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1, it started off so wonky and awkward but it seriously picked up and turned out to be so good. Never had a chance to play MUA2 but still this is good news.
