Playstation 3 - Built in wifi - Internet Access - Free updates (EXPECT EVERYONE'S FAVORITE GAME MW2) - Blue ray - FREE ONLINE PLAY - Many more features then just gaming. Xbox 360 - No built in wifi (Took them four years to add in built-in wifi?) - Facebook - ONE FREE UPDATE?! - DVD - Monthly live fee which was just raised (Fucking stupid, you are already paying for the internet, and with live you don't even have access to the internet rarely.)
Why is dvd a feature? I'm pretty sure the PS3 can play DVDs.
How the fuck do you edit posts. [editline]10:40PM[/editline] Legend I was basically joking against xbox lol
You don't edit posts, because apparently someone's too fucking lazy to disable iframes, so they just disabled it. Something like that.
my life for microsoft
Cool boxart there bro' Still a bundle
Except on PS3/Xbox you can't get the game separately.
Why do I find that cute? :raise:
because it is.
They speak the truth. I have an Xbox and I like it, but come-on, 60$ for Xbox LIVE? Oh, and before the storm starts:

It's still a bundle. That's like saying if 2 movies come on one disk then it's not 2 movies, but 1.
It depends on which way you look at it, to be honest. I consider it a game because I'm a console player, PC users call it a bundle. [editline]05:35PM[/editline]
[IMG_thumb]http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d18/GetBent009/PCGaming.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
This accurately depicts the stereotypical PC user. A dumb elitist asshat that hates fun.
"is PSN much better?" says guy who has never even seen PSN in his entire life. really, i haven't.
"is PSN much better?" says guy who has never even seen PSN in his entire life. really, i haven't.
In some ways, yes. PSN and Xbox Live both have their ups and downs.
In some ways, yes. PSN and Xbox Live both have their ups and downs.
the reason i like xbox is because NOBODY OWNS A PS3. who i know. so playing games with friends would be impossible.
I don't have any friends but I have all 3 consoles and a Pc :saddowns:
I don't have any friends but I have all 3 consoles and a Pc :saddowns:
Then go talk to people?
fuck live
Microsoft seems to have a hard time perfecting the gaming scene.
Gabe is bipolar. "Fuck you Sony your stupid piece of shit console isn't worth my time I LOVE YOU SONY I WANT TO MAKE GAMES FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL CONSOLE"
He did say that in the console's infancy when the console was expensive, had a low market share and PSN support was so very bad. Compare that to more recently as well as the fact Sony seem to have given Valve a lot of support and allowed them to use Steamworks on the platform. Valve have criticised Xbox Live in the past with the TF2 update, and pretty much had to beg to get the L4D1 DLC as a free update. So this news post isn't in anyway surprising.
As I said before this isn't anything new to publishing and developing companies. Whoever gives money at the time is the best company, in this case, Sony. [editline]12:05AM[/editline]
Then go talk to people?
People? :tinfoil:

Fuck.
Really, I own a 360, and even I think XBL is a train wreck, and MS is pissing on the flames instead of fixing it and putting the flames out. If the next generation comes out, I won't buy the next xbox console unless MS gets their shit together. Then again, I can get a more powerful PC than a console.
They can't update TF2 on the 360 anyways, memory restrictions. It's probably all thanks to M$ though.
"M$" is nothing to do with it, it's to do with the system. It has 512MB of shared memory, and TF2 without any additions was nearing that limit. If they did a lot of optimisation they could pull it off, but they couldn't publish it.
so gabe is cheap. that makes sense.
Way to totally miss the point, it's not that Gabe is too cheap, it's that everyone else is.
"M$" is nothing to do with it, it's to do with the system. It has 512MB of shared memory, and TF2 without any additions was nearing that limit.
And who was responsible for giving the console half a gig of RAM, hm? Even back in 2005 when it was released, that was a rather low amount, especially since it's combined CPU/GPU memory.

It's no better and that was released much later and where is your "the answer is install linux, now what was the question?" user title
Eh, no? All games registered through Steam require it to run (some exceptions are bound to exist however). The binary files are modified to invoke Steam. Try running STALKER (non-Valve game) with Steam shut down; it will attempt to connect to your account prior to launch unless you pulled some magic tricks.
If STALKER Is in the /common folder in Steamapps, you can run the .exe there without needing steam open :v:
And the PS3 has 256 for graphics, another 256 for system. It's no better and that was released much later
The PS3 at least has a hard drive it can use for swap space. And I'm pretty sure the Cell processor has significantly more cache than the tri-core PowerPC in the XBox. But yes, the PS3 is also lacking in memory.
and where is your "the answer is install linux, now what was the question?" user title
That account? Refugee camp. Been there for years. And I've mellowed out significantly in those years. I think the last time I suggested Linux as a solution was in response to "what should I do with this decade-old desktop?". Where it was a totally valid solution, by the way. That was a few months ago. I'm still a Linux user, just not a frothing Linux fanboy.
If STALKER Is in the /common folder in Steamapps, you can run the .exe there without needing steam open :v:
Works for almost every single game in the common folder.
No, Steam is a distribution platform. Nearly all of the games don't require Steam to be running to play so I don't see how that's DRM.
Have you tried? Almost all games need steam to run unless you get a cracked .exe, Even non valve titles use it. I don't mind though, I've had maybe 1-2 problems over the 6 years I've been a steam user. [editline]09:56PM[/editline] Depends on the game but all but like 3 of the games in my account have to have steam running to play them. If I run them steam will open up and log me in.

However, any Valve game will require it, and I haven't really tried many others.
Wait, if Microsoft requires you to charge for updates, couldn't Valve just charge, say, $0.01, just to piss them off?
Even if they could do that, Microsoft Points can only be bought in bundles with the smallest amount costing about $10. So Microsoft would get their money anyways.
