I'm mostly referring to the politicians. Being a politician from Illinois ought to carry an automatic prison sentence of no less than 10 years. Twenty for holding a political office higher than county level, thirty for Governor.
EDIT: Congressmen get life with no possibility of parole.
Aiming for the spine/neck area is worse. Shooting a deer in the spine is the most painful place you can hit it. You always aim for center of mass.
Them facing towards or away from you makes a kill with the bow very difficult, an ideal shot is one with the lungs/heart exposed when they are facing side towards you. I wonder what this guy was doing that caused the arrow to go into the deer's mouth.
edit:
like what the fuck at least practice first jeez
*headshot*
hunter: fuck ya!, wait why is it running away... son of a bitch!
*headshot DENIED*

this is why you aim for the body i guess
It may not have been an intentional head shot. We do not know, so why assume the hunter was going for it?

This. Shit like this happens all the time, bow or gun.
I remember accidently popping a deer on the front shoulder one day and it ran off. Couldn't find it.
A few days later, I come back and kill another only to find it's the same deer. That shoulder was damn near black. You've gotta try your best to avoid suffering but sometimes it can't be avoided

This is why I think US hunting laws should be tightened, here in the UK hunters are taught not to fire unless 100% sure it's going to be lethal or face heavy fines and potentially losing their gun license. Sure every know and then people miss but there's no amateurs trying to headshot deers and it means the deers that are only injured get tracked down and euthanised pretty quickly to minimise suffering
In Australia the mandatory hunting courses for firearms licences require headshots
Huh? What state?
To get my firearms license I just did some multiple choice sheet, easy as hell.
Or do you mean a hunting course to be permitted to hunt or something?
Would that kill a deer quickly with a bow as opposed to using a gun?
If you hit the heart, they die pretty much immediately. I saw one just jump straight up as soon as the arrow hit and when it hit the ground it wasn't moving at all. I think it died mid-air. I'd still prefer a rifle with a bigger cartridge (thirty caliber at least) because it's most likely going to be fatal anywhere in the torso and it'll induce shock instantly which means it's not in pain.

I know back twenty years ago it was that, but now in every state you have to do a day course with TAFE. It involved two theory tests and a practical. One theory test was firearms safety and laws, the other was hunting practices and laws.

Not really, but a solid arrow hit to the toros would (probably) guarantee that the deer wouldn't be able to run very long or go very far, meaning you could find and finish them off quicker in the case it's not an immediately fatal hit.

Personally I'd never hunt with a bow though, it seems way more difficult than using a gun with not a whole lot of benefit.
Reminds me of those silly costume arrows that people wear on their head.

This. My first time deer hunting I was using a .20 gauge shotgun with slugs and managed to hit a deer right in the heart. It ran for maybe 15 feet before it dropped; died within a minute if me firing.
"guys does this arrow through my face make me fat?"
or just not use a fucking bow
bows have been fucking things up for hundreds of thousands of years and will continue to do so
