Wish I could enjoy Pink Floyd, but this kid I knew was probably the dumbest person I've ever met and he was super into them and talked about them all the time.
So when ever I hear Pink Floyd, all I think about is this stupid fucking kid.
Like to give you an idea about how stupid he was, he spent 2 years stalking me on the internet to "troll" me. By troll I mean he'd just call me a faggot and then bitch at me for my phone number so he can "tell /b/ about my faggotry". He was also one of those "all music today is shit forever, 80s is the best ever" people, even though he was probably born in like 97.
So yeah, Pink Floyd makes me think of this shithead. Sucks man.
I'm really optimistic about the release as I do love them, but I have a hard time believing that any new album from them could even be nearly as good as their older classics.
I'm living in the time of the classics.
Wish You Were Here.
Anyone else cringe every time someone mentions that phrase?
It's pretty much always used ironically.
I swear to god if its about Roger Water's dad again
I love me some nice dadrock
I dunno which is worse, "le wrong generation" or /mu/ hipsters
I swear to god if its about Roger Water's dad again
Written by Gilmour. Also, you sound like those pricks at the subreddit. There is nothing wrong with waters' work, people need to stop bitching.
Get hyped
i just listened to some of they're songs on youtube and they sound like a relaly mediocre one direction
im sorry what

Can't wait till they do another world tour, with a Rick Wright hologram.
There's three surviving band members and this album has two of them. So it's 66% Pink Floyd.
But which one is Pink?
It's just Dave Gilmour, not the rest of the band.
That's like taking John Fogerty's solo music and claiming it's a CCR song.
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think. Oh, and by the way: which one's pink?
On review it is not only Mr. Gilmour, there is one other member.
It is in fact a Pink Floyd, maybe.

Isn't Nick Mason also gonna be participating?
Also apparently it's based on sessions with Rick Wright before he died so I guess he counts as a songwriter [?]
I wouldn't get too excited, Division Bell was alright but compared to their better albums it was bad. I can't see it getting better as they started going downhill quite a while ago.

Uhh, the band hasn't really existed since the very early nineties. If by "going down hill" you mean "stopped existing", then yeah, I guess they went downhill a while ago. The thing with the division bell is that it as the first album made after waters left, so they were going in a different direction from the style he established.

?
Damnit, you're right. I got them mixed up.
i love pink floyd, maybe this'll be even better than their bends album
in the aeroplane over the sea was their best album
This is like calling New Order's albums Joy Division albums.
expected badage boys
i'm interested, Gilmour showed that he can still write good stuff with On An Island
i'm interested, Gilmour showed that he can still write good stuff with On An Island
But this isn't him writing new stuff. This is from the same sessions that spawned the Division Bell. I'm not expecting much. Will definitely pick it up though.
you guys seem like u were born in the wrong generation...

The Final Cut was boring as fuck, that's just my opinion of course.
I don't know, I liked the guitar solos in The Division Bell. Marooned is really good, hope this one will be good too.

Oh, gosh, you're right! I've always been a 1740s kid at heart.
Well since it's involving Gilmour and Mason as well as it being based on some of Wright's old recordings it shouldn't be too bad.
I really doubt David Gilmour and Roger Waters will ever work with each other again, ever.
I am excited.

Nah. It's an example of how Roger can write really good and moving prose if he really tries, but as a band album it was horribly mismanaged. If it was released as a solo work, it would've been far more appreciated.
