Wat I dislike about Chrome is that Adblock doesn't block the ads but instead just hides them.
Enable experimental API's in about:flags, AdBlock will take advantage of this and use the new method of preventing the downloads.
There's no best browser. Browsers allow webpages to be viewed on virtually any device, and soon to be web applications. You should be glad browsers exist, instead of fighting over them
Seeing that blue line decrease like that brings me happiness.
There's no best browser. Browsers allow webpages to be viewed on virtually any device, and soon to be web applications. You should be glad browsers exist, instead of fighting over them
There's such thing as a faster browser, you know...
Tried using Chrome, but, honestly, I found the whole experience like letting crabs clamp their claws on my nipples - uncomfortable. I like firefox, and my computer is powerful is enough to handle the little extra power necessity.
I'll stick with firefox because there really isn't a difference between Chrome and Firefox beyond the Google brand name :v:
There is OFFICIAL addons by Google, they are actually well polished unlike the obviously unofficial addons on Firefox. The official addons just feel so genuine, and they work so smoothly and integrated so well, like they were actually *gasp* made by the same people. It's just really damn nice. Makes non-official addons feel like work-arounds.
If you still think Firefox is slow as shit, try using Nightly. No addons? Use Nightly Tester Tools. Chrome is nice and all but I don't notice a difference in speeds anymore, and I prefer the customizability of the interface (Chrome UI is crap).
Ugh, I deleted Firefox earlier because it was taking up room and nobody uses it. THE ONE TIME somebody decides to use it, they say 'Why did you delete the internet?' Facepalm. I tell them to use chrome, and they say 'no it doesn't have my stuff' I said what stuff, and they replied 'A refresh button and a home button'
Wat I dislike about Chrome is that Adblock doesn't block the ads but instead just hides them.
It doesn't block Youtube ads properly either, surprise surprise.
It doesn't block Youtube ads properly either, surprise surprise.
But it does, stop being so fanboyish.
I use both Firefox and Chrome, 1 on each screen. Not entirely sure why.. I just do.
I want to sex up Chrome I love it so much
But it does, stop being so fanboyish.
He's talking about those ads with the yellow tick on the buffering bar thing, and when the time reaches to it a text ad thing pops up in the video.
But I don't have that "experimental" thing someone (you?) mentioned earlier, I have to try that when I go home. [editline]1st December 2011[/editline]
Stop using adblock, it's shit and the creator is an asshole, use Adblock Plus. The Beta version works just like Firefox's ABP, it blocks every single ad, even in videos, etc.
Doesn't for me, but I haven't turned on that experimental thing yet, just learned about today, gottaget home.
He's talking about those ads with the yellow tick on the buffering bar thing, and when the time reaches to it a text ad thing pops up in the video.
I don't get that with Experimental API's enabled and AdBlock Plus for Google Chrome v1.1.4
Well I'm already only using Chrome on my laptop, and I'm strongly considering doing the same with my desktop when formatting next time.
You do know you can change browsers without formatting your PC or even have more than one installed at the same time, right?
I also love Chrome sync or whatever it's called, it's like Chrome is also a cloud service that syncs with my Google account so all my data is accessible from any Chrome browser I log into.
You do know you can change browsers without formatting your PC or even have more than one installed at the same time, right?
I can't feel arsed to change something as crucial as browser unless I'm formatting and starting from scratch again. Besides my Stationary has 8GB ram, so even Firefox's occasional memory leaks doesn't bother me much. So it basically boils down to :effort:
For anyone wanting an image to show how Chrome handles things:

The addons argument is no longer valid, and there are now Webapps that are fairly nice.
I was using firefox but it was taking around 10 minutes to open when i booted my PC, switched to chrome and it starting loading within seconds. Not sure why firefox became so slow, but i find chrome is way more simple and easy to use and along with the great performance i just much prefer it
congrats on contributing to the google hegemony yall
I tried Chrome and it was slow as fuck for me So I stuck with Firefox
I tried Chrome and it was slow as fuck for me So I stuck with Firefox
I think you got your browsers confused
I was hesitant to switch off of Firefox at first, not wanting to lose my addons and such, but at the end of the day it was worth it. Chrome is just so much smoother and faster. IMO, anyway. Also it's nice to see that IE has been steadily dropping over the last few years. Even if we can't agree on a browser, at least we can agree on that.
a yall complaining about how firefox is slow and has memory leaks are just like people complaining about PC's because "they break way faster than Macs do" thats because you're not using it right [editline]1st December 2011[/editline] thats because you are bad at computers
a yall

yall
For some reason the moment someone uses that it becomes impossible for me to take them seriously. [editline]1st December 2011[/editline] no offense
Is there any way to change it so that the tabs aren't in the top bar thing? If I can make it have the same layout as firefox I will make the switch.
Is there any way to change it so that the tabs aren't in the top bar thing? If I can make it have the same layout as firefox I will make the switch.
No, but you get used to it and it was designed to be more economical and easier to change tabs. You can just slam your mouse to the top and don't have to worry about hitting the address bar or anything like with Firefox
for me and the simplied but just as useful interface works well

My experience with Chrome is that a major, if unspoken, selling point behind it is that it is rather idiotproof.

Chrome is a "cleaner" and more simplified ( in my personal opinion ) browser. Also webkit.
Exactly why I'm not using Chrome.
