It's 2011, and you still need an antivirus? HAHAHA, no thanks. I use my brain.
most people here don't use chrome because they're afraid to leave everything they've done in firefox, lol
seriously, it's not hard to trade one or two apps and a few favorites for a much faster browser. you can do most of it in chrome too, if you take some of your time.
I would not change what I've gotten used to for years for a little extra speed, like a page loading half a second faster, I'd hardly notice.
I just like chrome. It is like staring at a neon sign.
Chrome is better and faster than Firefox, but Chrome doesn't have the Firebug plugin, which is very handy for web development.
There is Firebug Lite and Chromebug for Chrome.

MS Security Essentials takes practically no ram and no HDD space, and it's effects on boot time is moot, no reason not to use it. You won't even notice it exists. It's something that will be integrated into Windows 8 by default, if you install it in Windows 7 it is integrated, no different that Windows Explorer or whatnot.

If you actually have a clue about what you're doing, the only protection you need is:
-Your judgement.

If you're so retarded that you need an antivirus scanning everything for you in real-time, wasting precious resources, then you need to unplug your computer and shoot yourself. No exceptions.

Didn't you read my post? It takes virtually no resources, it's like as if you said "I'm uninstalling Windows Explorer, so much of a waste of ram and HDD space! It's made by MS, intended to be part of the Windows OS. It was released after Windows 7 so it's not in it by default, Windows 8 will have it by default.

Yeah right noob, tell that to all the CPU power being used in the background.
Don't be so naive, Microsoft is known for being sneaky with that shit bro.

0% CPU utilization, oh the agony.
0% CPU utilization, oh the agony.
Duh, ms is sneaky in using your cpu. So sneaky it doesn't happen.
Thought I'd give Chrome a shot, and they're so nice to you when you download the Browser.

Wow. Got rated dumb a lot because Chrome runs like crap on my PC and Firefox doesn't.
Now if only that IE share drops and Chrome takes over the market!
If you combine market share of Firefox and Chrome, then IE is in second place.
I think it's fair to combine them because they're similar in being not shite like IE. Meaning more people use decent browsers than garbage browsers.
Success! And Chrome even automatically imported my bookmarks and bookmarks toolbar over. I like that it wasn't much of a hassle.
Not for me, last time I loaded up Firefox it was version 5 and it was still eating up a fuck ton of memory, especially compared to Chrome, and it was still slow as hell.
must have been a hell of a long time ago, firefox 8 is out. also having more than 2 gigs of ram might help :3
Chrome is better and faster than Firefox, but Chrome doesn't have the Firebug plugin, which is very handy for web development.
Chrome is better, but who needs an extension when it's built into the browser? Right click -> Inspect Element
I think market share in browsers aren't really all that important these days. All browsers now are just about identical in speed an web rendering (IE9 has a few minor CSS issues which have been sorted in IE10) and all support web standards to a great degree. About the only major factor would be the UI and memory management, which are all about the same (not including addons which can easily throw comparability off).
Not to mention webkit has some of it's own CSS issues which actually work somewhat better on IE and perfectly on opera :P
It's actually surprising to see IE still hold so much market share when you consider what your average semi-informed (as opposed to completely uninformed who doesn't care) consumer thinks about it.
Switched to chrome since firefox got bogged down with so much shit that it started not even loading webpages :v:
chrome be fast yo.
I tried Chrome once, but I didn't notice much of a difference and nothing seemed that much better so I just sticked with Firefox.
And nowadays Firefox looks really nice and you can customize it quite easily. I just made a nice persona and removed everything I didn't need.
Overall, Chrome wasn't bad but I didn't see a reason to use it instead of Firefox which I'm already familiar with.

Google's always been slipping little tidbits into their stuff.
When a page crashes it says "He's dead Jim!" from Star Trek.

I think they also made the crash icon look like the old mac crash icon

I don't get how anyone could live without noscript.
The day noscript will be available for chrome and google finally decides to add more settings to determine what's written to disk (cookies, cache, history) i'll make the switch.
Except the latest firefox version is 8 :v:
just goes to show how up-to-date I am :v:

Hey computer expert, why's your rig so shitty that you consider the resources an antivirus uses "precious"?

It won't be long until IE drops below first though. Even if IE9+ is decent its name is forever damaged and based on that trend from the chart it'll be below Chrome by late 2013 or early 2014.
Webkit is so beautiful, it is like making love on a silk hammock floating somewhere on a rainbow.
Firefox is still better.
my firefox has been absolute shit lately... constantly freezing and blowing up my memory. But I still won't go to chrome since I am so used to how everything looks/feels. I wouldn't be able to handle it.
I used it in beta too, though the one thing I dislike about Chrome was when they changed the logo
I don't know about you but I preferred the earlier logo
Agreed, the new logo has a more mainstream look to it. The old one looked much better.
I don't get how anyone could live without noscript.

For one, "NoScript" has been created as a Chrome Extension, but under the name NotScripts, for two, Chrome has all of those settings.
Not to mention how terrible NoScript is, but if you must have it, it's available.
I only use Chrome because my posts don't show up on Firefox or Opera. All my "bookmarks" *wink wink* are on Opera though.
