What's wrong with a refresh? Should they just never improve it?
I would guess its project tango and the new androids they'll show off.
I kinda want my fingers in that dev kit .. but $500 is too much :v

The model is 2 years old, and doesnt even do 1080p. I think its time for a new model. Plus its not exactly invalidating the old one just because a new one with higher specs came out.

The Chromecast definitely does 1080p, 60fps.

I'm going to guess the new one does native 4K now, and has a menu of some kind with apps. Like a mini Nexus Player.
