Coincidentally, I just started watching Meteorite Men from the beginning, such a simple concept, such a chronically enjoyable show. I get excited when they find even a small chunk. Definitely a 'job' I could enjoy doing...
Seeing a meteor in real life is nowhere near as cool you think it would be. It's been my dream to see one up until last year when I was working at night, heard an explosion and saw some lights streak across the sky then disappear. I thought they were fireworks not a once in a lifetime event.

Yeah but this was during the middle of the bloody day... and it was FUCKING bright. Shit, if I saw that while out and about today I'd be wondering if it was a meteorite, a plane going down in flames, etc. I doubt I'd be as chill as that guy.
The lake was frozen so there would have been big ice shards flying everywhere too
I'm picturing some russian dude fishing out there and just not giving a shit
I've seen giant lights of green streak across almost half the sky, meteor showers are some of the most beautiful things.
