Aborted, haha
Damn Aborted
Damn this. [editline]9th October 2012[/editline] I was so fucking excited.
God damnit, was really looking forward to this.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
I kind of wonder why they do this in the middle of the desert. Aren't there many other less windy places?
I kind of wonder why they do this in the middle of the desert. Aren't there many other less windy places?
Wind isn't the only consideration. Precipitation and temperature are also important, and both are pretty predictable out in the desert.
Today's launch has been aborted at 11:42hrs MDT due to wind gusts making an attempt too risky. There is a second backup balloon but the weather may not be favourable for a launch tomorrow (10/10).
Stopped my fap session only to have this shit aborted. Fuck.
No, the space between galaxies itself is expanding. There isn't an edge somewhere out there that's getting farther away.
No it's expanding, the universe is finite
sources
Science class
Science class
Yeah all also got taught in science class that the Bohr model of the atom was correct; which for more complex calculations and experiments it very much is not correct. High-school science isn't really up to date with the latest in discoveries on the extreme macro/micro scales

High-school science isn't really up to date with the latest in discoveries on the extreme macro/micro scales
No science class I have ever seen has taught the Bohr model as correct. They typically use it to help students visualize the atom at first, before explaining orbitals. [editline]9th October 2012[/editline] Also there could be more than what we could theoretically see 13.75 billion lightyears away, but we can't know because the universe is expanding in those areas faster than the speed of light, so the light never actually reaches us.
My bad; that's just the impression we were given in school
Sorry your teacher (or district) had such low standards for what constitutes an education on atomic function :/ It's sad that it being a low wage job means that intelligent people tend to choose higher-paying careers due to capability and want for income.

So my bad, but it's not really any reason to go and attack my school, teacher or teaching district
