Off Topic is Ryse Xbox's God Of War.?
Not an issue, if you can accumulate more coins without paying, then that's just fine. If you're an impatient or lazy person, then you could pay real world money for those items, same principle as the Mann Co. store in TF2.
If it's like TF2 then they won't be direct upgrades, but it just says "armor upgrades", not different armor options.
it'd be worse if they were Russians with American and British accents or Japanese with Spanish accents oh god the horror
Clearly you haven't heard Men of War's voiceacting.

I'm really confused about this game now. - first it just looked like Quick Timius Eventius - then there was info that E3 was just the cinematic showcase without the "real" gameplay - then there was info that you can't exactly "fail" QTEs, it just lowers your score - now there's word of multiplayer, which would imply there is in fact "real" gameplay Someone know what's going on? I doubt even the most hollow and disconnected suit would seriously believe in the success of QTE multiplayer.
and Ryse will fall. Provided it's done correctly as stated in the post above
You do know that games with microtransactions are doing pretty ok right?
I will not Ryse to play this, yeah the game looks bad. Considering they've added in microtransactions just seals the deal for me.
This is a much, much better game than Ryse is fucking shaping out to be.
Hasn't Rome been sacked enough?
No. I haven't gotten the chance to in Total War: Rome II yet, that comes out September 3rd and it will be sacked by every faction I play as except Rome.
i fucking hate everything about this game from the moment i saw the first button appear on screen. Like what in the fuck are you doing guys? Are we not passed the point of one button gameplay?
Here's a guy supposedly working on it. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/7SCqZh.jpg[/t]
ryse just keeps looking better and better
Remember you can't spell risable without Ryse... if it were spelled correctly.
Here's a guy supposedly working on it. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/7SCqZh.jpg[/t]
If that's legit, then that's kind of depressing (if not surprising). Everything about Ryse recently has smacked of being the Xbox God of War...but bad because it doesn't understand what makes God of War fun to play.
Funny how out of touch Microsoft seems to be with gaming (at least until people get in a huge uproar about stuff). "Hey God of War is popular make something like that." "Hey microtransactions work in game X, shove that shit in there."
Why does no-one blame games like tf2, cs go, etc for microtransactions?

"Hey microtransactions work in game X, shove that shit in there."
Well considering the 4chan picture is probably fake and that the game is nothing like God of War, I don't know why people are comparing them.
this game doesn't punish you for failing a QTE.
Why does no-one blame games like tf2, cs go, etc for microtransactions?
Because their microtransactions are pretty much only for cosmetics and everything with an impact on gameplay is free from the start. TF2's sidegrades are IMO the most grey Valve's gone in this regard since the sidegrades are not available from the start. However, they can all drop for you at any time, you can unlock a couple via achievements, and swap with the community. The economy is also structured in such a way that weapons are the cheapest items available, so there's little in the way of broadening your gameplay experience after you've had fun with all 9 classes and what you can unlock with achievements. This is the F2P model where you got a great base game you can enhance for yourself by playing a lot or paying. In another game you'd get three weapons and some 'nades and everything else is locked until you've sunk dozens of hours into it. This is the F2P model where it feels 90% the content has been locked and you'd have to pay like 100+ bucks to get the content of a normal game. I haven't played CSGO, but I assume it's handled similarly to TF2 and DOTA2.
Well considering the 4chan picture is probably fake and that the game is nothing like God of War, I don't know why people are comparing them.
I have yet to play the game (obviously) but the most recent gameplay footage looked like a more grounded God of War, and it was dull because of it imo. The game is clearly going for the "big spectacle, hack-n-slash w/QTE" subgenre that God of War, Devil May Cry etc fill so nicely, but it doesn't seem to understand what makes it fun. It doesn't help when a designer says "Well, we don't want our players to be frustrated" in regards to the previously implemented impossible-to-fail QTE combat. I'll be happy to be proven wrong, but given how close it is to release I kinda doubt it.
What will multiplayer be like anyway? Opponents do a simultaneous QTE and they both die because neither of them can fail? Also why can't we just have multiplayer games where everything is unlocked from the start? What's even the point of forcing players to grind for hours?
But this is a console game, and it's on Xbox One.
and? I mean yeah "armour upgrades" and such suck as a microtransaction, but that doesnt mean ALL they all suck and are so horrible, it depends on what they are but I dont see what it being on console/pc have to do with it?
Why does no-one blame games like tf2, cs go, etc for microtransactions?
They came after the first wave and they're actually done sort of well considering that the studio's life doesn't depend on how many hats they sell
Why does no-one blame games like tf2, cs go, etc for microtransactions?
Oh, I do. Team Fortress 2 has an awful system which requires a minimum playtime of more than a month to get all the basic weapons, and that's under optimum conditions. From what I hear, though, CSGO and DOTA2 get a pass. Their transactions are apparently cosmetic only, so the only real point of contention is that their crate system gets dangerously close to online gambling.
Looks clunky as shit.
I don't know if it's in beta or what, but besides the particle effects, its looks current-gen.
You have to use coins to purchase button presses.
I think Ryse will go down in history as the first commercial game that can be beaten by a drinking bird.
If this game can play by itself, then it should be able buy something by itself, too.
