It's all nice and I'm sure the story will be great, but seriously valve.
Update your engine.
please, not just for our sake, but yours too - you're starting to look like the laughing stock of the graphical world now, stop hiring modellers + animators and start hiring decent programmers like Biohazard.

Actually the engine looked really nice in the video.
The shadows were really cool, and there were a lot more dymanic props than normal, and a lot of things seemed to be breakable too.

It's still the same hacky-as-fuck rendering code for things like the "dynamic lighting" which is the main reason they're using it so sparsely.

True, the same engine being used constantly does make them look a bit odd, but it keeps looking better and better every game they release. And hell, I'm still not sick of it. *Shrugs*

Who the fuck cares how it's done, it's the final product that matters. If it looks great and runs great, I don't care how hacky it was coded.

Probably wouldn't be saying that if you actually made content with it.
/speculation as I do not make Source content either
I pre-ordered it. It's sitting in my Steam Library, yet I can't play it.
It's mocking me!
Brb robbing bank.
I love Stephen Merchant. He's so funny in The Ricky Gervais Show.
I seem to want to preload it, just to have some interaction with the game aside from pre-ordering it.
