I'd be careful of saying such things in Sweden
Hahaha, you beat me to it good sir!
Everything is racist here!
Uh. This is old fucking news, daesh already tried to have an air force and all their shit got shot down immediately lol
This is even worse, at least in Syria they had actual MiG combat aircraft, (MiG-23s and 21s I think, I'm too lazy to look) these are just bullshit regular planes they're using to train. For what? So a marauding F-15E can blast them out of the sky on it's way back from a bombing?
i don't see what problem there really is
not like these fuckos can pose any actual kind of threat to real military pilots. they'll get shot down on the ground
it's implied that they might travel to other countries and hijack planes.
it's implied that they might travel to other countries and hijack planes.
haha holy fuck what do you think would seriously happen? if they even tried?
This is such a non threat. I wouldn't even worry about it.
ISIS is dangerous because anyone anywhere could pull out a handgun and go I'M ISIS SURPRISE and start shooting a place. Hopping in a fighter jet to perform an attack is like turning lights and sirens on shouting I'M GOING TO ATTACK YOU IN THIS MANY MINUTES IN THIS SPOT
it's not a threat in short terms, maybe, but it's a threat in long terms, because this shit instills fear and fear is a very powerful motivator for all the wrong things
They'll have to fly low
haha holy fuck what do you think would seriously happen? if they even tried?
it's a possibility
what do u think happened w/ 9/11
[editline]6th December 2015[/editline]
its not to say that i think theyre going to hijack a plane but rather than the notion that they might end up trying another 9/11 scares the frig out of people
don't the US and russia have massive air superiority throughout the whole region? what do isis think they can do?

I'm sorry but no. The second one of those aircraft takes off and isn't blipped as a known nation it will get shot down.

It's gonna get busted by a Raptor, Eurofighter, or a Flanker / Fullcrum before they can get close to a target worth striking.

These aren't Russian planes, the moment they're detected they will be shot down.

Uh yes it does, they wont get far enough before getting blown out of the sky.
Wall of RTFA fame
The terrorist group, which is bulking up its footprint in the chaotic north African nation even as airstrikes by Russia, the U.S. and other western allies pound its headquarters in Syria, is functioning unfettered in the Mediterranean city of Sirte. Given that Sirte is just a short flight from mainland Europe – Italy is closest of all - the development could mean ISIS is closing in on a bid to take its terrorism to a frightening new level with a multitude of high-profile potential targets within range.

" ... if they can blow themselves up in cars they can certainly do the same with airplanes; this wouldn’t be a great novelty and is in line with their thinking and purpose to do as much harm as possible."

“We’re not talking about MIG-31 or F-16 pilots," he continued. "We’re talking about very basic, rudimentary pilots who can take off in a light plane and crash themselves into the Vatican, for instance. It takes only an hour and a half to cross [the Mediterranean Sea] from Libya to Rome.”

Wall of RTFA fame
so what? this 'colonel' should know you only need a few modern destroyers in the mediterranean to create a no-fly zone over the entire area therefore they would not be able to fly their little planes into things.
sounds like this Israeli colonel is just trying to drum up fear and gather external support, that's the only logical explanation for the things he's said
it REALLY is a non-issue

m8 9/11 is exactly the reason this kinda shit won't fly
Guys, in Libya there is an Islamist coalition known as Libyan Dawn. They have a small but rather functional air force and have used it. The thought that any mere takeoff of an aircraft by ISIS would be immediately shot down is rather funny, given the fact Libyan Dawn has had past ties to Al Qaeda. Now, that's not saying ISIS won't be bombed. Both Libyan Dawn and Libya are fighting ISIS, as well as each other. Plus the Egyptian Air Force has bombed ISIS in Libya as well. ISIS will for the second time lose any air capability, but how and when that happens is something to watch.

They haven't been shot down because they haven't gone near Europe. It's highly unlikely that the Italians are going to intercept an aircraft over Syria, but they would if it was coming towards their airspace.
nice racism bruh.
It's speciesist
We only know of one confirmed time that monkeys went to war for a stupid reason, let's not compare them to ISIS
"we did it before it was cool"
-al qaeda
ISIS captured a few jets early on, flew em around for show, and a few days later their airfield consisted of rubble and bomb craters
That's like a fly flying into a flyswatter city.
One F-15C can Track / Launch on Four separate targets at once. The Raptor could probably do more.
Two Planes could probably take out ISIS's entire fixed wing inventory in one go around.
