Valve's statement seems to be misinterpreted all over the place. They didn't say they're not going to make singleplayer games any more, they said they're not going to make singleplayer-only games any more. So their games will have some form of multiplayer from now on, whether it's co-op, or something else they can come up with.

If no more singleplayer what if the campaign is where you do things as a team of rebels against of team of combine, and there are multiple endings; a combine winning ending, and the resistance winning ending.
