Sure, Bulletstorm was colorful, but besides that it was just another super-linear modern shooter.
It was fun for what it was, but it was a very generic shooter that really liked the bazillion points Call of Duty gave players.
It was definitely a linear modern shooter but it wasn't generic. If they do another Bulletstorm I hope the final boss is not a QTE.
They should've added coop to the single player campaign. That would've saved it IMO
I believe that was the original intention, which is why you're rarely without a companion by your side in the final game.
You do realize that you had to be creative in terms of killing the enemies in that game. That was like half the fun of the game.
And that's the problem, because that wasn't fun enough to base half the game on

Linear isn't synonymous with "bad." Half-Life, the title that everyone and their sister praises for being a godsend, was explicitly linear. Same for it's sequels. But it was still fun, because although it was linear, it wasn't boring and repetitive.
Bulletstorm wasn't a modern shooter at all. Like, at all. It hard variety in its enemies and tactics. It's fast, run and gun stle was what Wolfenstein: The New Order did before TNO came out. If you thought Bulletstorm was just another, run-of-the-mill shooter, then I'd really like to see what game set your expectations so high.

TNO and Bulletstorm are beyond comparison lol
TNO is one of the best FPS of the decade, Bulletstorm was an okay game in an otherwise boring year

"This one was good, this one wasn't so good."
You can't use subjective explanations to support "they aren't even comparable."
Bulletstorm wasn't exactly super good, it's just it contrasted to boring military shooters of 2010-2011 so much people liked it a lot, me included

it's a figure of speech

But yes it was?
Crysis 2 was mediocre
I thought Crysis 2 was pretty good though. Certainly not as good as the first, especially story wise, but i had a blast playing it and still enjoy running through using different weapons and the multiplayer, while SUPER unbalanced, functioned really well and i enjoyed it, especially during the Beta.
I think this is pretty great though, People Can Fly is a solid studio and i'm glad they're going back to what they want to do and i'm pleased that Epic is supporting that decision.
Oh neat, if they announce a new one I might try to fight my way through GFWL to actually finish it.
GFWL is annoying but Bulletstorm is totally worth it
If they remove GFWL then I will take back some of the things I said about them.
I paid $60 for the game on launch and had to download a crack just to be able to save, I might as well just pirated it

To be fair I don't think GFWL was their choice as much as it was EPIC's, and EPIC GAMES' response was to blame piracy because nobody wanted to bother with GFWL being so god damn broken.
If they make another Bulletstorm obviously everyone has to have wall-running and jetpack double jumps
But in all seriousness, I never got to play the original but I did like and appreciate what it tried to do for the genre - fuck just killing tons of enemies over and over again, let's instead basically focus the entire game on forcing the player to use all the tools and weapons they've got for a variety of different killing methods to mix it up a lot. If there's anything the new Doom could probably take a few pointers from besides W:TNO/TOB, it's at least something like Bulletstorm in making the corridor shooter archetype a bit more fun.

I never got round to playing Bulletstorm, but I will once GFWL has been ripped out of it like the cancerous mass of annoyance it is. (the DRM, not the game)
it's a figure of speech
Consider not using it then

Half-Life is also a boring game though, you're assuming I thought it was a unique and good game, I'm not. (it was really fucking good for it's time, but that's irrelevant to how it is now)
Super linear limited weapons, do the same shit over and over again, try to have fun as we send some hoard waves. "You can't do this before we shove a cinematic up your ass".
I didn't find the combo-mechanic very interesting, and there wasn't really that many combinations you could do all in all.

You do realize that people are still finding the original Half Life right now and are playing it still? I recently introduced my friend to it and he loves the shit out of it. It's still good, you might have just played it so much you got bored of it.

It's a shame GFWL was used to begin with because the multiplayer is pretty damn fun for what it is.
I'm gonna reinstall Bulletstorm and kick people in the butt.
Wonder if it has anything to do with Epic leaving the game developing scene. They probably realized that the IP would be better in PCF's hands.
Epic is making Fortnite and a new Unreal Tournament game, and have stated that they have other games in the works too. They arent leaving the game development scenel.

Huh, I never even knew it HAD multiplayer. All the more reason to get this shit wired into Steamworks.

i'd say "nah just use gamespy" but uh

You were arguing against my opinion that the linearity of Bulletstorm doesn't equate to bad when that was exactly what my opinion about it was, and then you used Half-Life as an example of why linearity doesn't mean bad when I think that's bad for it's linearity as well.
I'm not arguing about other peoples opinions on the games, I'm saying that I found Bulletstorm to be a super-linear and bland experience. You're literally trying to tell me that because other people liked it I should like it too.
I have played Bulletstorm once and Half-Life 2 twice (second time was a speedrun contest at a LAN), that's it.
Oh man, just a week ago I re-played Bulletstorm and was really sad at the end that such an awesome game won't have a sequel.
Now this happens.
Also, I hope I'm not the only one who genuinely liked the story and characters too. It wasn't very elaborate but it was great.

I fucking loved it. There's a soft spot in my heart for cheesy shit, specially sci-fi.
I'd buy a Bulletstorm 2, the insults were pretty funny in 1
never played bulletstorm
but i have used a gun that fires shurikens and lightning
looking forward to more
Why the hype? Bulletstorm was so dull after a while, I uninstalled it before finishing it.
Also yeah the backgrounds were pretty but when you stopped to look at them they were awfully textured.
