Im 13 or a cynical shit because I dislike most pop music these days. Pretty basic reaction from most people on facepunch it seems, just jump straight to the hipster label, or 13 year old if I genuinely think a popular song(s) is shit.
I am just being honest with myself. No heart goes into any of that shit, it's just for money and pop music will ALWAYS be that first. I am never going to respect any of that shit. Sometimes a genuinely decent song will slip into the high ranking charts, but it's rare, and gangnam style was not an example of that.
Call me a hipster or a 13 year old, I don't care I have heard that shit from all of my life for actually staying true to what I enjoy and being pissed at what I think is backwards pull on creativity in the musical art form. I used to quietly accept it and hold back my opinion, but I am seriously getting annoyed at the music industry. I have had it up to my wits end.
it's really funny when people say they're getting annoyed with or hate the current music industry
The song is just meh. Not good but not bad either. What else is there to say? I'm not good with the pop genre.

Well it is outrageous. One guy likes music, then he like... pays money to buy it... then listens to it, AND ACTUALLY ENJOYS IT.
May as well just live on the moon really.
south korean here
psy was loved and well liked before gangnam style lol
he was famous nationwide in korea before he made it international, like he could give a shit what a 13 year old thinks
He was also known by a lot of people who watch starcraft/ starcraft 2 streams since those would play mostly k-pop during the breaks.
It was literally the same goddamn song again only ever so slightly different sounding.
like it's all well and good to say pop music is shit and no heart goes into it but what does that mean? you're not saying anything, you're just spouting random words that you will think make you somehow superior to people who do listen to pop music (aka most people).
ur giving the name benjamin a bad name

I'd say 99% of your music is also some product by a band.
And if they make money at all, it's a product, I don't care if you say that they actually "care" about their music.
Why care about the song's position on the charts, most other songs on the charts are just as bad, popularity doesn't equal quality at all. It's a good song, but it's a silly pop song and (even if it wasn't intended to) it was riding on the short-lived popularity of Gangnam Style, so it only makes sense that it's popularity would be even shorter lived.
that said, it's nice to see Macklemore and Pink currently at the top spots, great artists
