Started laying nicely here in Portsmouth, already I can hear the cries of the damned.
Can we borrow some?
Wow, people can not take a joke. :D Seems like those in the UK are very touchy about their winter weather!
Looks likes its snowed about 3cm... Not really much
i'm in the amber. of course being a multi-millionare concept album artist i don't have to go to school anyway unless i want to, that is. [editline]18th January 2013[/editline] last time i did the kids stole my aviators and black casual jacket they called me roger pisswaters
wow im in nw bristol ffs
While I do think that -5 degrees Celsius is pretty cold, I don't think schools should close. Last winter we got about 50cm of snow, but not a single school closed. Also, a couple years ago, it got about -25 degree Celsius... It wasn't fun. And I still had to go school. The worst thing is that my school building wasn't finished, so our school was this horrible carton-y shack for a couple of years. These things: All put together. They're cold, but they do have these shitty heaters that smell really bad, but they do heat well.
My school is closed and it's starting snowing, quite heavily :D
About 3 inches here, whoo.
It's laying quite heavily now, must be like 2-3 cm at the moment, but no end in sight for the time being. It wasn't even supposed to start until 9:00 am this morning...
Today I'm going to find out what it felt like for my grandparents to walk 5 miles to school in a blizzard :(
And not a single snowflake in lincoln.
No snow for me
Nope, missed me. Gah.
Me and my girlfriend did out weekly food shop last night. People were there panic buying but bread, milk and the standard stuff were all there. We were talking to our usual cashier and they've ran out of potatoes, spaghetti hoops, cabbage, frozen chips, washing up liquid and spam. Seriously, who panic buys cabbage? We've only got a little bit of snow here in the midlands, it's not sticking on the roads where I am, but it's sticking everywhere else.
quite blizzardy out, strong winds and vast plains of white all around. heaviest snow I've seen in a while
quite blizzardy out, strong winds and vast plains of white all around. heaviest snow I've seen in a while
Same for me, last time we had snow this bad was a few years ago, and if it carries on like this all day...

What's it like in London? Normally the weather there takes about a day to reach me
Snowing like hell in Bournemouth, like the entire years worth of snow has fallen

Oh great, the one fucking place in the UK where it DIDN'T snow is right fucking here.
Deep snow everywhere, can't tell if people making snow angels or dead bodies outside.
Day one: Mountain dew levels dwindling dangerously low, will have leave the basement and brave the blizzard, wish me luck.
For anyone else in Hampshire who didn't know, all First Hampshire bus services have stopped running today.
It looks like the end is nigh, there is more snow than I've ever seen here and it's still snowing.
My school has put out an alert saying that you should only come if you have a safe route. From hours of careful and meticulous risk assessment I have come to the conclusion that the 100m long path from my house to the school is unsafe and I would put myself at risk by attempting to negotiate this difficult terrain. This unfortunately means that I cannot go to school today, I suppose that means I will just have to play Darkest Hour all day. Oh the humanity.
Seems to have hardly snowed a drop in Nottingham. I was hoping for apocalyptic snow so I wouldn't have to go take an exam. :(
Birmingham/Solihull reporting in. The snow is falling bad here, We've got about an inch and a half. My college is not closed, but my academic coach has phoned me instructing me not to come in especially, since I wouldn't be able to make it back, and many other students are opting to not come in of their own accord. Many other colleges shut, buses are starting to take diversions. And we've just finished out last pack of bacon.
My uni is still open, but they've extended all deadlines to Monday. And apparently their post isn't working any more.
