It was 0 F here in Vermont this morning. (-17 C) wind chill of god knows what Do you guys have good snow plows over there? How long does it take to get roads clear? If I remember, the UK doesn't get that much snowfall per year.
Snow ploughs for the most part do not exist (at least here in the south), it seems to mostly rely on grit and hope. Roads stay clear as long as they are 1) Gritted 2) Main roads 3) Actually used. The road outside my house for example is a main bus route and the traffic is flowing at normal speed even though its currently snowing (really) heavily.
25cm snow and -5c ahahah what that's nothing
Snow problem for me I bet you I'm late

don't your gritters have them attached on the front [editline]18th January 2013[/editline] so much for southern infrastructure LOL
We have had about 3 inches in 3 hours in Nottinghamshire.
That's next week isn't it.
It was today, but you'll be fine. Just retake it in July, you'll ace it easily. Unless other exam boards do it on different days, it was AQA today.
snow has fallen since 10:30 this morning it has yet to stop and shows no mercy for the poor folks around my area casualties has been high what can we do to stop this menace!!!!!!!!

Apart from the day I saw one on a the back of a truck a year or two ago being delivered.
No snow in Glasgow yet instead it's just fucking freezing.
They had snows plows in action around where I live, which were basically modified tractors, and as far as I know they drive up from the New Forest. On the other hand, the council decided to grit the roads before plowing them, which is an interesting choice in tactics... :v:
So glad I decided to walk home, watched a kid chuck snowballs at someone else's mum and when she turned around she had the meanest look in the world on her face then the kid just goes and chucks another one at her face.
it's a little embarassing watching the news and seeing schools, airports etc closing because they got a couple of inches of snow. the only time i ever got a day off school due to the snow and cold weather was when it hit -20 and the pipes in the school burst, meaning the central heating didnt work. even a couple of years ago when the whole country had snow, we got it day in, day out for like 3 weeks and everyone just got on with it. that's why we have gritters and plows.

is it me or does the red snowflake look like a swastika at a quick glance

Ended up going sledding for 3 hours, for the whole time it was snowing heavily although it's stopped now
I'd post a snide comment about how ridiculous the situation seems because my town got x amount of snow and everything went as normal, but I'll just leave this picture of a bus from a few weeks back because I found it amusing The sign says "Out of Service"
See! British police officers don't need guns.
Yup, that's a British Armed Response Unit in action there. If the situation got more out of hand, they'd have to send in the SAS, whose combination of gloves and balaclavas make them virtually immune to snow. The black is a bit of a giveaway though.
Just been sledging. Couple of my friends died from the snow but it was fun overall
i want snow :(
It only rained I dont care who wants the snow anyway I can always laying on the floor and imagine all the things my life misses The plus side is surplus of salt now there is hope for not getting devoured by the slugs.
