Oh yeah, and it's keep. Meh whatever.
Well anyways you get my point, Russia and the US have a shaky history, and while moving forward with better relations is the ideal, contingency plans are always good. I'm sure the US has many plans for dealing with various countries, be they friend or ally. I just don't see the point of releasing something like this that doesn't show any corruption or anything illegal. It's expected of countries to have defense plans and publicly revealing them makes them a bit pointless.
This is starting to look more like espionage on the US than just releasing a bunch of classified documents on corruption.
There's no growing hostility right now.
Many russians don't believe the cold war has ended, and we had the lowest level of diplomatic relations between the two since 1993 in 2007, when we initiated the eastern-europe missile defense thing.
Russia has flown bomber aircraft in Japan, UK, and US airspace in a retaliation of sorts. Russia is also slowly beginning to increase arms again, and has been at hard work upgrading military technology to match the US.
On top of that, Russia itself and the US have competing spheres of influence, both have stakes in Asia and Eastern Europe, and of coursr Russia is China's biggest ally, and China surely isn't on our best side and vice-versa. The world is still pretty split east and west, it's just that global trade has eased diplomatic and military conflict for now, but within a day, things could go down the shitter over a single issue and we'd be back to the 1980s all over again.
Yeah and the bombers were intercepted every time, at least in the Uk to my knowledge
So? It's still muscle flexing.
It's bullshit. Governments need secrets to function, otherwise the USA and other Western nations would not be so secure. Wikileaks is fucking bullshit. If you disagree, you're stupid.

So be it.

"If you disagree with my opinion then you're a dumbass, my opinion is the only valid opinion."
This is some interesting stuff.
More info is needed.
How come this is anything intresting or suprising?
If russia starts to conquer anything we, the baltic are one of the first targets due to our good strategic location.

And Poland, and the other Caucuses.
It's just good tactics to draw up defensive plans for things that are likely to happen. No doubt Russia has plans drawn up to invade the Baltics as one of many options if need be.

I agree with that commie cunt over here.
Go ahead Russia, go and conquer us.
We really dont want that, we're fucking with them enough allready.

Yeah great idea, issue a challenge to Russia a country that is pretty much on par with the US in military strength and quite happy to steam roll across an entire continent to have Putin personally bitch slap Obama into oblivion.

You're seriously over estimating russian military. They're shit tier, undiciplined unmotivated poor bastards.
Putin on the other hand is a different story.

Their military has decayed severely since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Fuck, there's officers selling off so much of their fuel for their own profit that their tanks can't practice. There is a severe problem of corruption in their military that needs to be purged before they can once again be as powerful as they used to be.
This isn't a planned invasion or provocation, but a last ditch defense plan if Russia invades the Baltic States. I don't think anyone sensible in the Russian or collected NATO governments will be too shaken up by this, although NATO commanders might be a bit pissed off.
I still don't see the benefit of leaking it, but I don't think harm will come from it.
Unless Russia see this as an opportunity to invade the Baltic states, as they would know the US's plan and they US would have to formulate a new one.
Canada is not one of the NATO countries involved? What happened U.S.A I thought we were Bros.

Unmotivated, not in the slightest. Undisciplined, no. Under equipped and may be falling behind the technology race, yes. But if they actually put their minds to it, the Baltics countries would be captured and occupied in a matter of short years.

That's because Putin is a moron who's reach far exceeds his grasp.

They have terrible living conditions and are used as slaves by the older soldiers, on top of that there is a huge split between the contract soldiers and the conscripts. If you look at the problems they had in Georgia, multiply that times a thousandfold for invading Europe.

They're used, as you've exaggerated, "slaves" for being new. AKA How the older people treat freshmen in highschool. It's sort of an initiation ritual that ALL countries with a notable military have. In Russia, it's much tougher from what I saw. Many if not the majority of the Russian people are very patriotic and in some cases, nationalistic. They're in no way "unmotivated".
Also you don't know much about the Georgian conflict do you, it was mainly fought with guerrilla tactics against the invading Russian army, and guerrilla tactics are proven to be highly successful in bringing down and hassling even countries with the largest military budget which is the US. Europe actually has a military, guerrilla tactics will be used rarely if at all and I'm completely confident that Russia will succeed in bringing down the Baltic states without the intervention of the West.
I think Estonia is both allies of NATO and Russia. Heh.

Yes, without the intervention of the West.
Yes, without the intervention of the West.
As in, when Russia WILL take over the Baltic states, if the West intervenes, it's going to get sticky.
And i thought the cold war was over...
And i thought the cold war was over...
Only the dead have seen the end of the war.
This actually isn't unusual. The US (and most other countries, I imagine) has plans for EVERYTHING. The US Army seriously has a plan for "the Girl Scouts start an armed rebellion" and "zombie invasion".
The reason is that the best way to train military planners is to have them make plans. And, since they already made them, what's the hurt in filing it away, just in case. And planning for "Russia invading the Baltic states" isn't that illogical - the USSR did so in the late 30s, and Putin/Medvedev have been acting somewhat similarly to the Soviets with regard to foreign policy.
I still find the contingency plan if China sided with North Vietnam during the Vietnam War kinda funny.
It involved nuking the major medical centers/production centers in China and releasing Plague.
I don't know about you guys but this leak is nearing more on espionage than government transparency.
