i find it funny that people thought it was hilarious and awesome when the US did it vs the terrorist leader who offered donations for hurricane sandy, but now that it's israel it's ridiculous and awful hint: it always was and always will be fucking ridiculous for a state to engage in diplomacy & war over fucking twitter
It's an extremely fast way to spread information wide and far. No meetings need to be set up, no speeches need to be made, everyone has access to the information immediately and it's on all major news sites within minutes. It's not the most officious way to get out a message but it's a hell of a lot quicker than carrier pigeon.
So basically your saying because some idiot types something in on the same site as some professional typing a formal message in automatically makes it unprofessional? I've seen/heard this logic before, oh wait its the same thing as people saying guns are bad because people use them to kill people.
what an all around awful post, as if the original "twitter aint so bad for diplomacy efforts" point wasn't dumb enough you had to tie in gun rights bullshit too?
what an all around awful post, as if the original "twitter aint so bad for diplomacy efforts" point wasn't dumb enough you had to tie in gun rights bullshit too?
You're complaining about PR ethics when people are being killed and Gaza is being bombed every 10 minutes. It works, its quick and it goes to everybody and no stupid agency gets a exclusive. Its win win for everybody.
You're complaining about PR ethics when people are being killed and Gaza is being bombed every 10 minutes.
brace yourself; i can complain about both [editline]16th November 2012[/editline] you ok? hope i didn't shock you too much, it's probably a very difficult concept to grasp but give it some time and you'll understand that you can object to multiple things at once!
brace yourself; i can complain about both
Well obviously you're not complaining loud enough otherwise they obviously would have bent to your will. [editline]15th November 2012[/editline] Looks like Israel is giving Gazans their wake up barrage, another bomb just hit.
Well obviously you're not complaining loud enough otherwise they obviously would have bent to your will.
what is the point of this post are you just trying to be clever and salvage what scraps of self respect you have left at this point or is there actually something i'm supposed to take away from this?
the point was asking you what the fuck your post meant
Exactly.
what is the point of this post are you just trying to be clever and salvage what scraps of self respect you have left at this point or is there actually something i'm supposed to take away from this?
Are you trying to be clever or something?
like if you think palestinians are genetically inferior to israelis share if you love showering day care centres in white phosphorus don't comment if you love justin bieber!!
Shared #gaws
It's not really working.
Are you trying to be clever or something?
I have the same question as him, its a weird situation.
Exactly.
idk if you're sitting in your chair thinking "haha.. i turned the tables on him" or something but in reality you're making incoherent posts that couldn't even be accurately described as complete thoughts or ideas and it's just confusing for everyone [editline]16th November 2012[/editline]
I have the same question as him, its a weird situation.
ok you could have saved a lot of time just by saying that instead of being a complete mongoloid and desperately trying to appear witty by copying and pasting my posts back to me my post meant that saying "you're complaining about twitter while people are getting bombed" is fucking stupid because i can complain about both. let that sink in.
idk if you're sitting in your chair thinking "haha.. i turned the tables on him" or something but in reality you're making incoherent posts that couldn't even be accurately described as complete thoughts or ideas and it's just confusing for everyone
The point of a spokesperson is to get the message out, and clearly it worked. I see no flaw. However its clear you hold more conservative views so good thing we got that funky situation resolved. Eh
Exactly.
What are you doing?
you don't see anything wrong with major international diplomatic messages being broadcast on the same site where you can type "yolo" in the search bar and find millions of drunk teens blogging about how much they hate their parents? it completely removes any legitimacy from the message, it's like carving "HEY HAMAS. LETS TALK PEACE <3 ISRAEL" in a bathroom stall for the world to see
you can search facepunch for stupid shitposters, you can find idiots on facebook, you can find people making stupid remarks on tumblr, you can see all the shit content on deviantart, you can find all the stupid kids on garry's mod, it really doesn't matter where you go. idiocy will follow i also find it better than keeping it secret from the public and waiting to announce it, it seems more friendly. though being friendly isn't exactly the job of presidents and leaders of countries is it?

Well that's obviously totally unbiased.
Well that's obviously totally unbiased.
It is. An overwhelming majority of what they call 'rockets' that HAMAS sends towards Israel are just rocket propelled bullshits... To which The Regime responds with these giant ass air strikes.
Hey that Hamas firework could have scratched the paint.
Well that's obviously totally unbiased.
It is unbiased. Israel responds to property damage with civilian death through harsher means like air strikes.
It is. An overwhelming majority of what they call 'rockets' that HAMAS sends towards Israel are just rocket propelled bullshits... To which The Regime responds with these giant ass air strikes.
The road goes both ways. The folks launching the rockets in the first place obviously are going to recognize that they are horribly ineffective. In fact if they were actually effective, it would give Israel a globally accepted (in a political sense) excuse to declare war and actually take over the strip. Instead Israel tends towards smaller scale retaliatory strikes (small scale when compared to their actual capabilities, they clearly outmatch the intentionally shit rocket attacks). Which is again, precisely what the strip fighters want. They are fighting like terrorists. Their goal is civilian casualties and martyrdom. I hate to use the term "terrorist" here because culturally speaking, that is basically their version of guerrilla warfare, but from a Western viewpoint, it is functionally terrorism. It is an interesting tactic of martyring their own citizens with minimal cost to their fighters. They make Israel look bad in the eyes of the world in exchange for a few of their citizens. Real damage is ultimately done to Israel and the rocket attack is effectively a success. Both parties are fucking stupid for playing the game. Israel damn well knows what the rocket attacks are intended to do, but they continue to play the game like idiots. Continuing to kill civilians and seal their own fate. Hamas is a giant fucking asshole for using its own civilians as the real warheads for their rockets. They are intentionally poking the bear with a stick and letting others suffer for it. Either party can likely bring this chapter of the conflict to a close simply by refusing to play their part for long enough.
I've spoken about this in the other thread about this, but I have a lot of jewish friends and so I'm getting a lot of one sided stuff on my facebook feed. I was born jewish but don't practice, and many of my friends are the same, but they still feel the need to blindly defend a country, looking for whatever excuses they can find to blame the other side. I don't understand why people who are normally quite level headed in real life suddenly lose their shit when a country that a lot of them have never been to is in the news. Here's the stuff I've seen: "When you hear the news later today about Israel attacking Gaza and killing the head terrorist today please keep in mind that 12,000 rockets were launched at civilian towns from Gaza since Israel withdrew from Gaza Strip a few years ago. About a 1000 rockets this year. You will not see that on TV... Please share and keep Israel in your thoughts. עם ישראל חי Wherever I stand, I stand with Israel" "The whole concept of this photo saddens me" "If the Arabs put down their weapons, there would be peace. If Israel put down their weapons, there would be no more Israel - עם ישראל חי xxx" "My thoughts and prayers to those fearing for their lives in Israel. This has to change. Am Yisrael Chai" There are inevitable arguments on the statuses, and they quickly devolve into nit picking the other person's post for something that could perhaps be misinformed or a slightly wrong statistic, ignoring the valid points raised in favour of spelling errors. [editline]16th November 2012[/editline] This just in. "I'm so scared because all of my friends in are huge risk of getting bombed by terrorists their is a silver line because we have the best army in the Middle East and it will make Israel stronger and have better training to deal with terrorist and to make Israel safer from they terrorist ."
It is. An overwhelming majority of what they call 'rockets' that HAMAS sends towards Israel are just rocket propelled bullshits... To which The Regime responds with these giant ass air strikes.
Hamas has stopped firing shitty homemade rockets for years now. The picture used in this thread is laughably outdated. They're firing BM-21 rockets and, more recently, Fajr 5 rockets. Those aren't shitty homemade explosives, those are military grade artillery rockets. And even if homemade rockets were the only ones they threw, so what? A grenade doesn't leave much of a crater, but if I told you each day 3-5 grenades will explode randomly across your city, you would be kind of pissed, especially after several years of it happening.
