Banning for opinions again, I see.
By the way, if "Asking for ratings" is a bannable offense now, you should really be banning all the other idiots who constantly use terms like "rate me hearts" and shit. Ex: Some basement dwellers go "If that man was on this forum, I would rate him hearts".
On-topic: That's stupid of him, you can't deny it. He's literally an idiot. Nice, but an idiot.

Actually no he is not an idiot. There wasn't much else to do with the money, he acted quite generously and smart. Think about it: 2500 dollars is not much and the article says that it took him a long time to get that money. His daily/weekly/montly income is quite low. He couldn't have rented an apartment, because he would have been thrown out in a couple of months. Maybe he could have gotten some clothes, food etc., but even the food would go bad quickly without refridgeration. And banks wouldn't be an answer because with such a small amount of money the interest would be next to nothing and he would have died long before it became a sizeable fortune.
So no he is not an idiot.
TH89 is back AND a mod?
This is fucking awful.
That man needs to be bathed in presents of love.
You done making decisions based off a fiction novel?
The bible may be fictional but it still teachs(somewhat) good values.
Heh, rather smart and polite of him. That amount of income would have been taxed anyways, he would probably be left poorer than he was after he had to pay his taxes.
I want to walk around washington D.C someday and empty a wallet full of 100$'s into some guys collection jar while wearing a mask/hood so he doesn't know who did it.
Uh, this is all well and nice but it's not exactly the most sensible thing to do.
Mark 12:44. A poor woman went to the altar and only put two worthless copper coins, everything she owned, in to the temple's treasury. Everyone else had donated portions of their wealth while she had given everything.
The same applies here: these are generous actions which are very scarcely done. It doesn't matter if twenty five hundred is a lot or isn't: it's everything [to him].
Same as this, it's illogical.
Surely, if you want to give, the sensible thing to do would be to build up your economy so that you can give more money and more frequently. The value of the money to him is lost once it leaves his hands.
I appreciate the sincerity and kindness of this but it's not exactly the most logical thing to do, even if your aim is to fund the charities.
Actually a lot of hobos are extremely kind people. They just don't know what to do with themselves.
Reminds me of my uncle.
I've been scared of homeless people since I attacked by one as a kid, maybe they're getting nicer..
Actually you would be surprised at how much money some of these "homeless" people make. Some of those people collecting charity out on the corner can make more money than you can with your job. Also, its tax free.
Not saying this guy is begging for money on the corner.

$500 towards charity isn't going to do shit.
What a kind man, he deserves more.

They're not all bad, just the crackheads, mentally ill, and drunks.
$500 towards charity isn't going to do shit.
Uh yeah it will, it could support an entire African family for...like...forever
I feel like it would be more responsible for him to spend that money on bettering himself than just putting it back into the system that helped him get that money. It doesn't really make sense.
The point of the homeless shelter is to get you on your feet so that you can become a functioning member of society. Not to help you get money so that you can spend it on charity and go back to spending other people's charity money.

It's satirical now.
That you've edited it.

I used to have to try really hard to miss a point, as well.
Good man. Need more people like him.
I wish that people would act more like this
God, the way this article is written is so condescending and snarky that I just want to storm into Fox news and shoot the place up. Dear god, "Remember that 'they're people too' "? What the fuck is that shit.
I need to go take a breather before I ragequit life.
I met a crazy homeless man named "Chilly Willy", he's got more mug shots than Paris Hilton has IQ points, and says his main talent is air guitar. I once met him when he was high in a McDonalds and he had a friend, I had never met him before and I thought he was gonna just do something crazy. Me and my friend and brother were cornered in the booth and we really had no fucking idea what to do. Every time I pass him while driving down the road I scream out a good long CHILLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! and I think he probably doesn't even remember me.

I rated you informative.
Anyway, although it is insanely kind hearted of him to do what he did, wouldn't it make more sense for him to at least put away some of that money for his own future? So he could get out of the system that he is supported by, part of which he donated to? The logic behind his actions is a bit circular.

I was going to say the same thing. If I was him but still wanted to give back I would try to get that apartment and then try to find a better job. After that's all said and done he then could donate a thousand dollars every other month if he wanted to.

What a dumbass. He could have got an apartment and a job, then donated monthly to charity. I don't respect this man at all.
What a kind soul

Exactly.
I respect his motives, but his method is just idiotic.
I say we sculpt a statue of this guy!
