You lookin' for all sorts'a trouble?
The only one that comes somewhat close, is the Forza series.
And I don't have a xbox360

Considering you can get something that pimpsmacks the pi for only a little more dosh and with the same OR smaller size, I'd say the Pi is over-rated.
The only thing saving it's ass are the afromented GPIO pins.
Yeah, I just looked up some of the alternatives, they are pretty damn nice. I do like the ability to just hook a hard drive via sata into the thing.
I don't know, I watched their kind of information video on their website, they talked about how the controller they made was for gamers, and they were deciding what gamers want,
What if I want a keyboard? What if i'm a hardcore gamer that hates the controller? To be completely honest, the mouse is a lot more accurate and I really don't know how anyone can argue with that. In comparison you have a LOT more control over your entire HAND than just your THUMB on a joystick, I play my games to win, and i'll never be able to have the dexterity on a controller than I do with a keyboard/mouse.
i feel like a flamboyant gay man agreeing with someone on clothes
"ooh yah"
Ou Ya! I can finally play Subway Surfers, Angrybirds and Temple Run on my TV. Thank you OUYA!

Well there ARE usb ports on the back of it.
But I highly doubt intense fps games are the primary target for it.
Platformer games make more sense.

There's some irony here, since Angry Birds is the only one I recognize, yet I haven't really played it.
There's barely a decent PS2 emulator for PC.
Look up PCSX2. I've been playing FFX FFXII and Godhand all perfectly fine on it.

PCSX2 is still very hit and miss with a few games. Usually the later releases or obscure ones, but it has had problems emulating a few games for me (mostly Timesplitters: FP, rendering issues and speed up/ slow down).

I did have problems with Jak3

Why don't you mention your PC one more time? I'm sure people care and aren't annoyed by you.
I do not even know why he keeps mentioning "I dont need the i7 and the GTX 680 in the living room" or spending 1k on a new computer. That is a silly argument to begin with, you can easily buy a laptop or even build a terrible computer that would run emulations really easily. Although its gonna cost more than 99$ its not going to be anywhere near 1k.
Wow, where did all this hate come from? No shit it's not going to run COD or other full size AAA games, you get an Xbox or PS3 if you want to play those. It's the poor man's console, which I thought was honestly a great idea.

These are two completely different markets and two completely different purposes.
Yeah they both play games but they're two different types of games and you can do a hell of a lot more with this thing than you can do with any console on the market.

Yeah that's what I'm saying, it's console gaming (and media and web browsing and Android and..) on the cheap, what's not to like? Although I thought I heard something about them having touchpads on the controllers so it'd be more compatible, guess that was just a rumor.
Surprisingly split opinions here, huh?
Isn't it ironic that the controller is a copy of the xbox 360 one with that shitty dpad that was designed for 3D games when the ouya will be probably used to emulate 2D games?
I have the Nexus 4
I have the Nexus 7
I have the 360
I have the Wii
I have the Playstation 3
I have the powerhouse PC with the i7 and the 680GTX
Give me a solution that will allow me to play all my video/music formats out in the living room and give me a solution that will allow me to play MAME/emulators in the living room without jailbreaking one of the aforementioned consoles WITHOUT
A.) Making one of my otherwise portable devices stationary and requiring additional accessories such as MHL adapters, USB Host devices and Bluetooth Controllers
B.) Rooting my consoles (risking a ban online).
Again, I don't need the i7 and the 680GTX in the living room and I definitely don't want to spend a thousand dollars building one.
I can't get it to run a single game at full fps yet.

Though I've only tried Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, and Destroy All Humans.

Give me something that can do everything that the OUYA can do, with great software support either through the manufacturer or the hacking community and runs better for the same price point.
[sp]you can't so stop bothering[/sp]

[editline]31st December 2012[/editline]
i can also use my ps3 controller on it via bluetooth
[editline]31st December 2012[/editline]
i like to play spyro on it
How much was it?
It's a standalone, stationary all-in-one Android "gaming console". It's meant for games but you can do a lot more with it. Honestly it's as useful as you make it.
so... people will just be adding hardware upgrades and such and before you know it:

Honestly I'd rather just build a media center computer for $300 with a Blu-ray burner and an APU.
For the price range all that comes to mind is basically the Wii Mini, which kinda sucks.
I'd totally get this for Android stuff like emulation and such if I had a Windows phone or Blackberry, or just want something in my living room that's inexpensive and easier to let friends/family/roommates use while I'm busy texting and googling shit.
i dunno, any android phone?
As I've been saying, I don't want to make my otherwise useful portable devices stationary and also have to use 4-5 cords to get it working the way I need it to.
I'm sorry the internet doesn't understand the concept of having a living room 100ft away from the computer and keeping other family members in mind but stop with the fucking scapegoating of "your phone can do that". Well guess what, my phone isn't going to sit there 24/7 so I'd gladly spend the $100 instead of having a 100ft HDMI cord or sacrificing my smartphone/tablet or $500 to build a HTPC.

I dunno where you live but here in England people with houses where rooms are 33 metres apart can usually spare £500 for a HTPC

But would they want to? a HTPC draws way more power than a Tegra 3 would, and if you can get what you want for £80~ instead of £500 there wouldn't be much of a competition.

I agree completely with the point of buying an Ouya instead of anything else; it's just that cost probably wouldn't be an issue in this case
