i'd rather fucking die then make my pamily pay $300k (its not like they can, either)
I remember one time I slashed my hand on a piece of metal at a computer recycler in seattle. Grabbed a rag some super glue and drove the two hours back to Vancouver Canada for nine stitches because FUCK going to the hospital in the states.
what a doofus, didn't he pay attention to the advertisement? You're supposed to ask your doctor if your heart is healthy enough for sex, and I bet he didn't keep track to see if his erection lasted more than four hours
My uncle got his hand stuck in a meatgrinder on the US border and they actually pushed him, hand still in grinder, to Canada to get free healthcare.
With a 300k bill at the age of 55. You might just aswell flee the country and live the rest of your days on some tropical island.
Say I got hit by a car and it wasn't my fault and I didn't have medical insurance, would the person that hit me have to pay?
Comes out of his car insurance. IF he doesn't have that he's the one the courts fuck in the ass for it. [editline]20th January 2015[/editline]
I wish the stubborn as fuck USA would just modernize its healthcare already. Who even wants this system aside from pruney old men?
Most of us normal people in normal income brackets want it too. The problem is that we have no say on Capitol Hill. The people that do have a say are all rich enough that medical bills are not a concern, and since this doesn't effect them personally they have the luxury of saying 'Well the system works fine so I'm going to cling to my political party's stance on this'. I can't afford to pay out of pocket, I can't afford health insurance(And thus don't have it), therefore it needs to be pretty god damned severe for me to go to a doctor. If something like that happens to me all I do is get the bleeding stopped, bandage it, and carry on as best I can.
I was contemplating studying abroad for a while. My uni wouldnt allow me to got to the states, because of their student insurance premium being way lower if they activly discourage student to not go and study the states. Ended up in Australia, which seemed to be much more up my alley, culture wise anyway.
Wow, so I thought the NHS offered reimbursement for medical costs incurred in America. As it turns out it's almost every single other country except America.
Don't screw with me, tea sipper. Our medical facilities are the best in the world.
I wouldn't pay 300,000 dollars even if they removed 3 gold bars from my fucking colon m8.
air ambulances are fucking expensive my brother was rock climbing and suffered a ground fall. they had to call in a helicopter to fly him back to a hospital about 70 miles away. that + the weekend he spent in the er amounted to about 20-30k he has to pay off since he didn't have health insurance
I have to think that the biggest cost is the fuel to run it.
I'm not going to complain about the snow anymore. Sweden's p. alright. :v:
Might be just me overly paranoid but I'd never ever go to the US without a medical insurance.
My family member once broke his arm while in Los Angeles, the doctors stiched him up and said it'll heal by itself. When he got back to germany and got german doctors to look at it, it turned out he had do undergo surgery asap or he'd have permanent damage. Nedless to say he sued and won the case. [editline]20th January 2015[/editline] also german doctors best doctors
