It's not really worth worrying about aside from two points:
1. It's an easy tool for politicians to use to get what they want passed with little/no opposition.
2. CP crackdowns often take out legal pornography that may act as a deterrent for child abuse in real life (including the production of illegal CP), sometimes intentionally, sometimes not.

I completely support the right of competent people to make decisions for themselves, so I'd like to know how you plan on determining when someone is out of puberty.

Pedophiles can't help that they are attracted to kids. Their brains are wired in such a way that children turn them on. They can't help it. It's the same case with gay people, they can't help it if they like men. If you really think it's a choice, then you're just as ignorant as all of the church fanatics that think being gay is a choice.
People have all sorts of weird fetishes. Fortunately, most of them are not age-restricted, like feet, stockings, latex, etc. Unfortunately, pedophiles are attracted to children. We should be giving them help, not shunning them from society. We should only be punishing those that manipulate children for their desires, and even then, that punishment should be focused towards rehabilitation instead of punishing them for the sake of getting back at them.
