well the son did an AMA (Ask Me Anything thread) and he talked about how his dad will be having sex with prostitutes in front of him and shit
http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/hfw2p/i_am_violentacrez_teenage_son_ama/
uhhh are you sure you aren't thinking of a subreddit moderator? Because moderators on reddit are way different than admins admins are the site staff who do the actual manual running of the site subreddit moderators are chosen by users or appointed by the creator of a subreddit and have no power outside of that subreddit there are a lot of shitty moderators in some subreddits but the admins are all actual employees of reddit inc.
I don't know, violentacrez moderates like 30 subreddits (well, he did until all the pedo ones were shut down) so he may as well be an admin He's known to be quite close with the actual administrators of the site
It shows a severe absence of any sort of ethics and regard for others, two qualities that are highly valuable in virtually every field.
So he can't be an ethical person because he's fulfilling his biological urges? The sigmas and taboos surrounding incest and sex are all just phenomenons created by modern/western cultures. Unless the quality of his moderating job was affected by this, I don't see why it should be even relevant.
http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/hfw2p/i_am_violentacrez_teenage_son_ama/
fuck I can't find the good posts
fuck that. the administrators are just as bad as the moderators for letting shit like this slide in the name of ~freedom of speech~
cool down for a second and think logically the website has millions of users and tens of thousands of subreddits the only way anyone knows about the subreddits is by word of mouth or by pressing the random button most people (read: 99.99% of the users) wouldn't know about the subreddits until now the admins don't actively browse every subreddit in existance. in fact, they barely post at all. The only way anyone could have known about/done anything about this before is if somebody stumbled upon it and brought it to everyone's attention (see: exactly what happened now.) This whole shitstorm is largely because somebody stumbled onto these child porn subreddits and made a post about it over the past day or two garnering all this attention. A good comparison would be somebody finding an old defunct subforum on facepunch, and posting freely in it without anyone else knowing. Until anybody else finds it and tells everyone what's happening, it would fly under pretty much everyone's radar. We'll assume there's no ticker in this case because reddit doesn't have one.
I'm sorry, it was meant to be a joke. The "does anyone else remember SMB3" posts and "DAE like Steam" posts have been bothering me a lot lately.
I apologize then :)
the admins know this shit happens and by not moderating the creation of subreddits they may as well be encouraging this bullshit there's no way a well-adjusted human being would see that "/r/deadniggerjailbait" was made and not do something about it. the admins are completely to blame for this
I again defer you to the previous point made: there are hundreds of thousands of subreddits. There are only so many people that are admins on reddit, and they're all real, regular people working and living like everybody else. I understand what you're getting at but at the same time, you aren't taking the size of the website and the small team of admins into account.
What state is Reddit hosted in, so I can review their child pornography statutes
you are absolutely clueless about the popularity of the child porn reddits, and this shit has been brought to the management's attention numerous times
Sorry, i'm operating on my knowledge at the moment. afaik it wasn't brought up often or at all, but i'm just a user
They've banned jailbait? You fucking idiots! How am I suppose to teach these prisoners to fish properly now?
Just for clarification I absolutely support the shutdown of the cp subreddits, that shit is absolutely unacceptable.
I again defer you to the previous point made: there are hundreds of thousands of subreddits.
that's a terrible fucking idea
I think the idea behind it was probably more like having a semi-permanent irc chat room than a forum, where reddit just plays the role of the server host. It's a shame its got such a crappy community to be honest. The layout of the comment threads allows a thread to go off topic but not be derailed. But on topic, I'll be glad to see them gone hopefully it'll make the community a bit better if all the pro 'free speech' people leave.
the size of reddit is not an excuse. this shit has been going on for 4+ years and they obviously haven't put any effort into keeping it from happening
Although I agree more could have been done, I'm just saying that it isn't a black and white "they don't care if there's child porn" situation
Although I agree more could have been done, I'm just saying that it isn't a black and white "they don't care if there's child porn" situation
there is evidence that violentacrez is in close contact with the admins so it's obvious that they turn a blind cheek
I prefer 4chan over reddit That's saying something
they turn a blind cheek
:v:
I hope 9gag is next
:v:
blind eye listening to podcasts and posting at the same time is a bad idea
:suicide:
I don't visit Reddit, so I could very well be wrong, but shouldn't it be safe to assume that, following that logic, they should allow sections based around hiring assassins (or distributing drugs, or human enslavement, or jaywalking, you get the picture) as well?
So he can't be an ethical person because he's fulfilling his biological urges? The sigmas and taboos surrounding incest and sex are all just phenomenons created by modern/western cultures.
"We are all programmed to have sex regardless of any context, biotruth"
"Officer, you can't arrest me for stealing that. I have kleptomania, I was born this way! This is discrimination!"
General Bullshit (the largest forum on SA) has been renamed "/r/3DBabyWieners" in honor of this momentous occasion.
"Officer, you can't arrest me for stealing that. I have kleptomania, I was born this way! This is discrimination!"
You shouldn't arrest people simply for having the disorder, though. Just for acting on it.
Just because somebody is appointed as a moderator in a bunch of subreddits doesn't mean they're anything like an admin on the site There's a big difference between the situations we're describing here
He has the same power to ensure child pornography is banned that the admins do.
distribution is not what makes normal pornography pornography, why should it make a picture of a child child pornography? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b8/Human_anatomy.jpg this is a picture of a male and a female completely naked. you could get sexually aroused by it, but it's not a pornographic picture. it being distributed on wikipedia does not make it pornographic either.
I'm like four pages late and shit, but that girls feet are horribly cropped.
HAHHAHA I AM REALLY UPSET ABOUT SOMETHING I TOTALLY DIDN'T KNOW ABOUTand that is why I say "Fuck, you" Oh man this is hilarious
