:( Gabe We love you
He looks so old now
I wish He'd learnt to count there, Microsoft can count to 8...
You know, this really needs to be a bannable offense
I've seen people adding tl:dr to a really long post as a "Meme" reply but this isn't? What the fuck is your problem mods? How has NO ONE noticed this?
how is this not a meme?
Microsoft employee here, can confirm.
It goes like 1.0, 2.3, 3.1, 95, 98, 2000, Me, XP, Vista, 7, 8.
We tried to teach him to count like this, alas, he refused to understand.
Xbox 1 xbox 360 xbox one
umm microsoft counts like ass. They LITERALLY have gone 1, 360, 1
Aha, as a part of my Electronic Engineering course, we have to do a Computer Programming module involving C++. Now since I've already dabbled with C++ before, this course is incredibly easy and I get 100% for everything.
One question on the latest exam was "what does char a = 'b'; mean", it's laughably easy.
(However, our teacher is this little, quiet and old Chinese lady who sucks at English and teaching, so basically I find myself teaching people in my class about programming and the theory behind it considerably better than the teacher does)
Gabe looks like a damn hobo now. He used to be so clean cut.
I'll be sad as fuck one day he dies :(

Harvard is overrated. :downs:

Put him in cryosleep until we can stop death, then revive him.
His new glasses are very stylish
So true - I've learned much more about programming during internships than I have in school as a C.S. major. College overall is overrated.
Gabe is supporting young people to code so strongly yet his company disregards those who use their games to code
can you elaborate on this?
I like how Gabe says around 25:55, he brings up the point about how if you like watching professional Dota 2 players, they are in a sense providing television. A lot of companies could learn from Gabe if they actually want to be respected as developers on the same level that Gabe is.
He looks like such an old man now.
Give him a leather jacket and a Harley, he could fit the look perfectly.
Great interview, but it kinda reminds me of how terrible schools can be. Half those kids weren't paying attention and more than half probably didn't understand much of his answers... ;_;

You guys are really so impatient. Gabe has a master plan, to get game of a lifetime. Letting other companies produce crap video games again & again. The savior Gabe will release it upon his death. Making it an steam machine exclusive, to crush the consoles 4 evr.
Reality probably will be an exclusive to steam/valve/os with controller

Fat guys don't look good clean cut
Now he looks like he could be some viking chieftian or something if he was wearing the right clothing
I'll be sad as fuck one day he dies :(
He's only 51. Don't start worrying about him dying already. :v:

Yeah it sucks but you can't expect everyone there to be interested, they're only young. The good thing is that the people that are interested will just watch this video instead.

Not needed.
He bought out death.

He will always be part of us, and of each pc game.
Gabe is slowly turning into a wizard.

I hate it when people say this. Sure, if your area of interest is something incredibly practical based that is quite massively ingrained into most workplaces and society in general, then sure, you can probably quite easily get away with not going to college and learning a trade in an apprenticeship type fashion, but there are certain fields for which this just doesn't fucking work.
I'm doing a double degree in nanotechnology and physics at university and I SURE AS HELL don't think you could do this kind of thing outside of university. It just doesn't work. If code is badly optimised but still runs, it's not perfect, but it'll do. If your physics or your maths is bad it's straight up bad and it DOESN'T work.
