why is it that DARPA are able to produce things 100x faster than any other organisation?
They get their technology from aliens. /men in black reference
They get their technology from aliens. /men in black reference
I would not doubt it
Stickin' my way to the top!
I NOSTALGIA'D SO GO DAMN HARD. BRB DIGGING MY OLD PSONE UP TO PLAY THAT GAME AGAIN
Fuck hanging shit on the walls, I'm going to be spider man.
You mean Gecko man. I remember some show on discovery channel where they created a suit based on the same principle. Some dude used it to climb an office building.
Extreme amounts of cash, they even said they wouldn't mind getting a budget cut since they have way more cash than what they need.
Their budget is extremely small compared to the amount of funding that goes into other projects and pretty much everything else related to military research. DARPA is fast because they are streamlined. They are designed, from the ground up, to be high speed low drag. Money goes to interesting projects and the bureaucratic oversight is kept to a bare minimum both because they consistently produce new and possibly useful tech, and because they cost very little in the grand scheme of things. Not to mention the weird PR shell that DARPA has. I have never seen a military research program that is so widely liked by people across the planet.
-snip, already posted-
I dunno about you guys but I'd still use a wallmount...
I dunno about you guys but I'd still use a wallmount...
Mounting it would require time and effort, and possibly a particular location on the wall.
And you still have ugly wires all over the place
They where talking about this years ago on TED, seems they where right http://www.ted.com/talks/robert_full_on_engineering_and_evolution.html
I'm gonna climb buildings with this.

They make awesome shit nonstop.
I want this attached to big dog's feet so we can climb buildings and give people heart attacks
Awesome that the scientist were able to produce such results, now this a good expenditure for Darpa it is good to see that not all government agencies just wastes money.
they'd really have to ensure that this is 100% safe, because it kind of sounds too good to be true: you can peel it off w/o any kind of effort, but it can hold like 300KG
Funny side note about this. When they were first developing this kind of stuff and trying to mimic the Van Der Waals interactions, they created a surface that would stick to almost any surface and hold an INCREDIBLE amount of weight... The problem was, it was too strong and they could never remove it. It is good to see they have overcome the "unable to remove it" problem.

I shit you not, as i read this article my WALL MOUNTED TV's screws pulled out and the whole Tv crashed down. Were can i pick some of this glue shit up?
This sounds cool considering all the potential applications. Wonder if it's combustible.
And you still have ugly wires all over the place
Quick, lets ask DARPA to make wireless power transmission!
