this is something I probably shouldn't have laughed at but I did anyway.

Oh from what great heights you have fallen.
Oh my god those comments. Rage inducing.
Surprised how many electronic musicians are on FP. Makes me wish I got into it when I could.
There are "electronic musicians" everywhere. Just started studying at a music school, 20/24 people are producing electronic music.

This is still the worst ripoff I've ever heard
I get fucking mad whenever I hear artists try to steal other songs into their own because they're fucking lazy
Too fucking right.

I take it they have permission, but damn. Write your own fucking songs. Pop music is one giant copy paste.
everyone freaking out about this should shut the fuck up because it's exactly what EDM, all house and electronica is based off.
daft punk did the same thing, it's how they got big
Whenever I see Will.I.Am I cringe with hatred. Just because he's so fake and powered by money, no talent what so ever. Fuck jealousy I just hate faggots.

Well I imagine it's just like any music medium thing; you got tons of guitarists, tons of drummers, tons of what have you. Still, sounds like getting a set up with some DAW + some kinda keyboard is probably much easier/convenient than those things.
Just reminds me how shit most pop music is. It comes off as lazy stealing melodies or just straight up sampling whole 4 bar sequences. Remixing is different, it's taking an idea in a different (and hopefully interesting) direction. But all this sampling in pop, original artists credited or uncredited, is a load of wank. Shows these artists have nothing interesting or original to express.

I don't listen to quite a bit of Daft Punk for this reason - it's not like I'm being unfairly discriminatory of will.i.am for doing this. With that said I enjoy a fair bit from both Daft Punk, and the original work by Will.I.Am isn't bad or anything. I'm upset because Will.I.Am is completely capable of making awesome work but just got lazy.
I just flagged his video under misleading/spam
Wow, i've heard most of the original songs before in some music dvd about Sensation Amserdam, and some tv shows about Mayday (big rave party in germany)
This is just so hilarious
Also the Arty & Mat Zo - Rebound song
is on the Tiestö - elements of life DVD as a mix intro to another song,
why i know this, i have no idea i just know.
Andy Moor, another big name in the trance scene, has decided to troll back at Will.I.Am on his coffee break.

I liked this one by Maor Levi.
Stupid copy paste. Hold on. Fixed.
maybe he just did it for attention, as i totally forgot about him
Well, this is coming from the guy who thinks screaming "THIS IS A REMIX" multiple times over someone else's songs constitutes as not stealing and not requiring permission to use.

Oh my goodness, I laughed so hard. I'm not a fan of Maor Levi's modern stuff, but I have huge respect for his classics.

HAHAHA! I hope you realize no pop artists write their own songs in the first place ahahaha. you can't steal from someone that hasn't created anything in the first place

So, do you just join threads to start fights, or...?
But I do agree with you somewhat. The music industry puts too much into the producer's control rather than the musician. Let them have their lazy-ass music regardless, just give credit where credit is due.

Sampling has pretty much been around since the beginning of hip hop.

Yeah, except when they did it, they were just two French guys making music out of their apartment. Chris Brown and Will.I.Am are more than capable of buying the rights to use the track, and the fact that they didn't is despicable.
will i am is such a fuckwit i hate him so much he literally shits out the worst 'songs' i've ever heard and everytime i hear one i want to kill myself or preferably him

no it was just really funny
giving credit is not legally required so there is no point
God I remember when Black Eyed Peas didn't have a "The" at the start and sounded a like a New Age De La Soul. I mean they genuinely had some smart lyrical content and any sampling was well implemented.
And no one bought their music.
Oh chroist people are so bitter over nothing.
All I'm angry about is Chris Brown thinking it's okay to continually be twattish. I'd only forgive him once he makes something worthwhile and convincing.
im angry about will i am thinking its ok to continually be alive
Didn't the Black Eyed Peas also basically add singing over Dick Dale's cover of Miserlou for Pump It? Did that not count cuz he's old or something
Listen to this and then listen to what will.i.am(well, actually the entire Black Eyed Peas) has become...

I have to admit will.i.am does have a few good songs too but ripping other people's work off like this is just fucking lazy. The sample doesn't even fucking fit in with the rest of the song.
At least Flo Rida and Pitbull have the decency to change up the songs they sample so they actually fit the song.
They probably ask for permission too, because at least i haven't seen news of them getting sued for ripping off other people's work...
If you're gonna rip off samples from good songs AT LEAST make good songs out of them. Christ, all of Will.I.Am's songs on that album are terrible.
