actually I think knowing that your soldiers are free to enjoy whatever they want would make me appreciate that whole "freedom" thing a whole lot more.
People are probably more comfortable with big burly men protecting their beautiful red white and blue rather than a pack of sissies watching rainbow ponies. Just saiyan.
Also non-authorized. Yet nobody complains about it.
I know nothing but probably because that's a dark one that kinda fits. It's not a bright-ass reference to a children's tv show. And how do you know just because he's wearing it that it's okay for him to wear it and he hasn't gotten complaints?
Counter point: Pokemon.
Not sure I've ever seen bands of grown men throwing pokeballs and reciting stuff from the game/show. When I was a kid though I think I brought a toy pokeball to daycare once and some obese kid took it and whipped it at a concrete wall while yelling "PIKACHU, GO". What the fuck man.
It gets a bit ridiculous. You don't even see kids making up such overreactive fandom towards the cartoons they like, let alone grown men going to such extremes as sewing that stuff and carving pony stuff from the show on their rifles from a show for little girls. Or so you would expect people not to do such things...
Agree'd, I doubt many of them actually have a sound state of mind to begin with; For example, I have a friend who changed his first and middle name to Fluttershy and Brony, and never stops talking about the fucking show.
this is like a juggalo soldier painting his face like a clown [editline]19th July 2012[/editline] seriously though it's 50/50 funny/sad that some of you are defending this
I'd say people who get butthurt over a piece of cloth and velcro are the sissies.
I'd say grown men who watch shows intended for little girls are the sissies
If I was in a squad with a dumbshit with a rainbow sticker because he wants to let the world know he loves a show designed for little girls I'd be fucking pissed. He'd be a detriment to the safety of my fucking squad because that shit for brains is putting a BRIGHT RAINBOW on CAMO.
People are probably more comfortable with big burly men protecting their beautiful red white and blue rather than a pack of sissies watching rainbow ponies. Just saiyan.
they're soldiers. if they weren't big burly men, they wouldn't have made it through training, nor would they be soldiers in the first place. you don't get pacifists joining the Marines, do you?
I have a friend who changed his first and middle name to Fluttershy and Brony
i seriously hope you're just making this up or atleast over exaggerating we're talking about an online/virtual username right RIGHT
i seriously hope you're just making this up or atleast over exaggerating we're talking about an online/virtual username right RIGHT
I wish I was; And I was wrong, it was his middle and last name he changed into that.
I think this is going over the line of "liking something" into "obsession"
There's a fan club for practically everything. Why does it being MLP make it such a danger?
I know nothing but probably because that's a dark one that kinda fits. It's not a bright-ass reference to a children's tv show. whatever makes them happy :)
whatever makes them happy :)
Except this particular instance is not in line with military guidelines and regulations; Thusly, they are not allowed to do this.
I don't know bout you guys but I would not want to mess with these bronies
Clearly the US Army lacks discipline and structure if soldiers are modifying equipment without permission. The British Army would never allow that to even happen, especially rainbow stickers.
Is every single one of your posts some nationalistic British post?
Out of regs. OUT OF REGS. OUT. OF. REGS!
I'm pretty sure I'm going to be rated a bunch of dumbs for the following comparion, but who gives a shit. Why the this a big deal? So what, they like a children's show, one of them put a pony patch on in a convention, not on the battlefield, not in boot camp, but at a convention. A convention for bronies. For some reason I doubt he's going to charge onto the battlefield with one. Second, its not like suddenly being a brony makes you combat ineffective. The guy isn't going to turn around to another soldier while under fire and talk about how "Twilight Sparkle is so glamorous" or something, just like how a gay soldier isn't going to talk about banging dudes while he's being shot at. I'm seeing a lot of rhetoric being thrown around in this thread which is frighteningly similar to the rhetoric used about trying to ban gays from the military. "They're going to be afraid of fighting", or "this is the pussification of the military", or "they'll distract other guys in combat scenarios". I don't even like MLP, but the backlash towards some guys who like a show joining the military is absurd. Exactly what I was talking about. This is something anti-gay people would say about gays in the military.

Counter point: Pokemon.
The pokemon craze was mainly focused within its specific target audience, the biggest reason older people are into it is because of nostalgia. It started as a videogame and it was something unique when it came out, so it's popularity makes complete sense. All the merch including card games and such strongly appealed to its target audience as well. Add to that the fact there wasn't really a brony equivalent for pokemon where fans would treat the whole thing like a sort of cult, and you can't really compare the two
Except this particular instance is not in line with military guidelines and regulations; Thusly, they are not allowed to do this.
then why is which show it is that they're watching relevant in the slightest? the headline should be "soldiers wearing patches against regulations", not "OH FUCK SOLDIERS ENJOY MLP RIP MASCULINITY"
Can't you understand it would be grayed out? Our flag has red on it and they dull it out, why can't they. Your treating it like they would be running around with a rainbow on them. We learned not to do that in 1776.
Can't you understand it would be grayed out? Our flag has red on it and they dull it out, why can't they.
then why is which show it is that they're watching relevant in the slightest? the headline should be "soldiers wearing patches against regulations", not "OH FUCK SOLDIERS ENJOY MLP RIP MASCULINITY"
Because it was a unauthorized sign, by a brony, reflecting something in regards to it, that was added to a uniform? And second off; Why are you asking me? I didn't start this thread.
this is like a juggalo soldier painting his face like a clown [editline]19th July 2012[/editline] seriously though it's 50/50 funny/sad that some of you are defending this
This is like a gay soldier putting a rainbow patch on his sleeve. Seriously though it's 50/50 funny/sad that some of you are offended by this.
then why is which show it is that they're watching relevant in the slightest? the headline should be "soldiers wearing patches against regulations", not "OH FUCK SOLDIERS ENJOY MLP RIP MASCULINITY"
"sensationalist headlines"
BREAKING NEWS: SOLDIERS LIKE THINGS
You are obnoxious about everything you like?
"OH WOW THESE GUYS LIKE SOMETHING THAT I DON'T LIKE AND THEY'RE IN THE ARMY, I WILL FUCKING KILL MYSELF" You're all no better than the fandom itself, for Christ's sake. You all need to go and take a good long hike if this shit really gets to you. NEXT UP: SOLDIER CARVES PONY INTO STOCK OF WEAPON; FREE GUNS SHIPPED TO EVERY US CITIZEN FOR MASS SUICIDE
Because it was a unauthorized sign, by a brony, reflecting something in regards to it, that was added to a uniform?
what I'm saying is, flipping out about it being MLP is totally unecessary. people are angry at the wrong thing.
what I'm saying is, flipping out about it being MLP is totally unecessary. people are angry at the wrong thing.
honestly if you get angry about MLP (in either the love or hate respect) you need to go the fuck outside for a while
"sensationalist headlines"
you know that's not literal, right? besides, there's sensationalist, then there's just plain missing the point of the story. it being MLP will not affect their ability to do their job; if it did, they would not still be in the army.
Is every single one of your posts some nationalistic British post?
He supports the Conservative party so his views roughly have the same bearing as a Daily Mail readers.
