i actually wonder with this stuff if there was a prefab script involved, and if so, if obama simply vetted it or actually played a role in its formation heck if the whole thing was just ad libbed that'd be incredible
I'd think Obama has more things to do than get involved in writing a script for this, most likely very lightly scripted, some parts sound too plain to be actually written in my opinion and some of their reactions look too genuine, but who knows, Obama could be a good actor too.
This is teh shit, so goddamn awkward but very well made. He plays the awkward guy so genuinely realistic and funny I love it. Especially the Bradley Cooper Episodes haha.
is it me or does it just seem like the whole interview was a vehicle for the healthcare.gov thing? some of the humour felt pretty forced or just plain non-existent, but it was okay, maybe not that the healthcare.gov is a bad thing of course and not to start a big huge debate
"Let's get this out of the way. What did you come here to plug?" Pretty obvious that was the joke.

I'm on the fence about all this. Obviously not being American and having very little to do with America I don't really care one way or the other about the political stunts the president pulls, but I'm still not completely sure this is the right way to go. On one hand I love the fact that he interacts with the younger generation directly, doesn't take himself too seriously (at least not too seriously to avoid doing shows), adds humor to what he does and generally being 'cool'. However, with all these TV appearances, clips, jokes etc... I feel that a certain amount of respectability is lost. You guys might not agree with me and this might just be what American politics needs, but I think there should be some dignity and weight of the office too. I am not suggesting he should be a sour faced old man, but there should be a happy medium where you can move forward with the times, be able to take a joke and be dignified (I am not saying Obama is not dignified btw, just that with all these appearances it is easy to slip up). Not sure what you guys think.
holy shit I love his deadpan interviewing style. I'll never forget Zach smoking that joint on Bill Maher.
You'll love these if you haven't seen them.
"Let's get this out of the way. What did you come here to plug?" Pretty obvious that was the joke.
I've never heard of "to plug" being used in that way so yeah sorry but it just didn't occur to me I suppose But I think this is what happens when your opinion is contrary to the majority in a thread, no big deal, it happens sigh
