Well, in the Bible there's that thing that the snake, which gave Eve the apple had arms, a human torso actually. But then god transformed it into a crawling thing as punishment.
So basically, if you would try to use this as proof, surely some fanatic of which there are many would speak some gibberish using this some way as a sign of god's existence.

Snakes used to have legs because, and are an ancestral trait. This rare mutation would never work its way back into that snake population.

And no this is not what evolution is, things just do not go well fuck I want a new arm today.
They would get a nub, and if it was beneficent for their environment it, OVER GENERATIONS turn into something, but not an exact hand/arm.
Unless it is a throwback gene, but in short not how we understand evolution to work, pay more attention in school.
