Also if Bin Laden is the islamistic fundamentalist that everyone believes him to be he probably wouldn't cut off his beard this far as the beard is considered a symbol of pride in these cultures.

I don't know, think about it. Bin Laden has proven himself to be an intelligent, driven person. If cutting his beard off means he can orchestrate a few more thousand civilians deaths, I think he'd do it, regardless of pride.

Yea maybe, but he's kind of symbolic fo many people, a least I think so. So it's also about what they see in him.
