USS Liberty #2 here we come
I wonder where do lobbyist lives? In the lobby? Why are they called lobbyist? Do they live in the lobbies of people's hotel? Don't they have anything better to do other than being a lobbyist?
Afaik Iran has the highest percentage of people enrolled in higher education and the most women enrolled then any other ME country. I think they also have the most universities. Not sure the quality but Israels are probably better.
Aren't their universities rather isolated? Usually collaboration improves the quality of research done, and Israel collaborates a lot.
If War makes money then where's the money that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan produced?
The biggest problem with the system is that it doesn't move around. It stays in the PMC company pockets. That's the difference between WW2 and now, the money actually went back into the economy. While here it just stews around in the top. All that money is sitting there and honestly it works the same way as a Swiss bank account, it doesn't do shit for the economy but it's there.
I'm not 'sensitive' to the issue. I'm acknowledging it's significance. You know what the difference between the 1993 bombings and 9/11 is? in 1993 only 6 people were killed and the parking garage was damaged. In 2001, over 3000 people were killed, and about 9 buildings were severely damaged or completely destroyed. Are you so fucking dense that you cannot see the difference. That's like comparing apples to the fucking holocaust.
You may be acknowledging it, but you are very, very sensitive towards the issue. Yeah, but over a thousand were wounded, that constitutes a pretty big uproar. I understand that it's not equivalent, that's not what I was going for. But it's somewhat close to the same level. Also, my point wasn't that, it was that if it wasn't reported on to the extent that it was, it would fade, LIKE the 1993 bombings, that bombing may not have been used to the advantage of the government because they probably didn't have any prior knowledge. Which could possibly mean that there was prior knowledge of another terrorist attack, although somewhat indirect knowledge, and they could use it to their advantage when it happened.
You do realise all that shit was passed in reliance and direct response to 9/11, right? It wasn't an excuse, it was an ineffective response. You're arguing semantics for the rest of the post. what are you even fucking arguing. There is LITERALLY no point to this.
If it wasn't pre-planned to pass the acts, why haven't they been repealed? Our current government is enforcing them, even.
because terrorism isn't dead and the american public is paranoid, like, do I have to spell this shit out to you?
because terrorism isn't dead and the american public is paranoid, like, do I have to spell this shit out to you?
Yeah terrorism isn't dead, therefore they have a right to declare anyone in the US a terrorist and hold them indefinitely, even if it's one of their own soldiers. That shit hasn't even been repealed. Also; stop being a condescending prick, just because you can't actually come up with a reasonable response, one-on-one, and instead resort to massive insults, doesn't mean you automatically win the argument. I want to clarify something here, are you fucking kidding me? like is this a joke? Are you SERIOUSLY surprised that 9/11 got attention? Like what the hell do you want people to do, just ignore it 10 minutes after it happened? [editline]27th September 2012[/editline] You can't possibly seriously tell me that it's a shocking endeavour that people would publicise 3000 people killed in a single morning, most of downtown NYC completely destroyed and a massive smouldering hole in the central headquarters of the worlds largest military. [editline]27th September 2012[/editline] without being a complete brain dead dribbling fucking lunatic, you can't tell me that's surprising.

We shouldn't be deriving policy from it two-thousand years after it happend, we shouldn't be supporting policy made just after 9/11. Most of it is 'spur of the moment' trash that infringes upon our rights.

To what, your oh-so reasonable statement that since people gave a shit about 9/11 and the PATRIOT act was signed, therefore it's a false flag operation? Learn your god damn current events. The patriot act is shitty, but can you name me one instance of it being used immorally since Bush left office?
