It's weird how serial killers choose their targets. My cousin was telling me how police would ask a serial killer if they would kill someone based off their looks alone, just showing them the how the person looked, and the killer would choose whether or not they would kill them just for the most random of reasons. Basically "Elbows too pointy, would not kill." sort of thing. Serial killer psychology is a weird thing.

It is possible for people who are ideological extremists to manufacture for themselves a state very similar to clinical insanity, a complete and utter detachment from reality in which everything they percieve is subject to their twisted ideology. Good examples are fundamentalist and evangelical Christians and Muslims, Tea Party members, the 'family values', Westboro Baptist and Heritage Front groups, (adult) social conservatives of every stripe and guys like Breivik.

I think he's disgusting and fascinating at the same time. Kind of how you have to hate Hitler but can't help but be fascinated by how he managed to pull it all off.
