Honestly I'd much rather hear a less-than-perfect speech written by the man himself than some flawless piece of inspiring text written by someone with years if not decades of proficiency in tugging all the right heartstrings for a big audience. Obama is certainly a lot more enjoyable in his press conferences than when he's giving some big pre-written and well-practiced display of memorization.

Well that's what I would expect him to be criticized/praised for considering this is a thread about how he is going to write his own speech. Problem is this isn't especially exciting news so there's only so much discussion to be had about it so everyone ends up talking about the same shit they talk about in every other thread related to politics, even if said thread has nothing to do with trump directly or indirectly. It could be a thread about a strange new fish being discovered in the arctic, someone posts "can't wait until trump hunts it into extinction" and then the thread is no longer about a fish but instead about trump and his policies.
