Could be said to for the US military as well.
Yeah "China's economy is fake", "It's a bubble" blablabla, all the goto excuses that appears whenever China and money is mentioned. Must be a good thing knowing that the whole world and the economists are blinded by the lie that FP knows so well about.
And by the way, this is in terms of purchasing power. How do you define largest economy? If going by GDP USA is still biggest by far.
This is complete bollocks. China's military is far weaker than that of the US, China has little to no soft power or cultural exports, China has by comparison to the US no ability to exert it's power globally, Chinese GDP per person is virtually nonexistent by comparison to that the the US, and unlike the US, the Chinese economy is now so dependent on lending and foreign investment that it's bound to stall in the not too distant future. China also has powerful neighbours which prevent it from being a regional superpower. China's pollution is such that, they will have to slow their own growth in order to prevent their environment from being totally destroyed by it.
Anyone who seriously believes that China is overtaking the US in anything positive has no idea what they're talking about.
Also the rise of China's middle class means that political liberalisation and instability is inevitable in the near future too so China is also possible screwed there too.

Holy fuck genius, you should sack IMF and form your own foundation. Maybe the International Retardation Foundation.

Sure in numbers the Chinese economy might be better but in every practical measurement of power, they're still far behind the US.

They make components for almost everything electrical in day-to-day living, I'd say that's a very good measurement of power and outreach.
China grew larger

Only because it's cheaper to do it in China, China has little ability by comparison to the US to make other states do what it wants because it's so completely dependent on their foreign investment. If it were suddenly cheaper to produce these goods in a different place then what would happen to China? They'd have mass unemployment and even lower living standards.
This is all I heard when I lived in China. How much each business was booming and how fast the economy grew.
2nd place 1st loser

that shit is necessary, unless you really want shoddy bootleg copies of literally everything all the time. The problem is how outdated and abuseable the current system is

Maybe you should get some free time, sit at Wikipedia and start learning about the power projection capabilities of said countries, because China is fucking light years away from US.
Here a little tip: Size of economy != Power projection
Or, so as to make things more easy, try to get a Reading Comprehension book because you mixed up things. You are bashing against anyone who's got an opinion against "China is getting bigger and more powerful than the US".
The Mouse is 99.99% correct.
EDIT: Dude, they just called me in from RT and Ria Novosti, they said you would make a great analyst of the current geopolitical situation in Asia.

Remember the Chinese countryside is kept away from growth on purpose...

I'm not sure what you're saying here. I haven't seen any economist argue that China isn't in a bubble.
Well their economy is kinda inflated from ridiculous building projects that have no purpose and serve to be ghost towns.
and also lets not forget mass over population and mass starvation
This doesn't exactly mean much.
China was once the worlds largest economy with the largest army, but that didn't stop a few gunboats from crippling them.
This number will only mean something if they know how to manage the transition from a overheated industrial economy into a modern one. While quite possible, it's too soon to say that China is a superpower.

It's not fake, but to say that the Chinese economy doesn't have deep structural problems and a lot of bad debt and corruption (which almost all economists recognize) is also untrue.

Yeah man it's not like organizations like the IMF haven't said the same thing it's obviously all us at Facepunch.
joke's on China, 1 is widely known and proven by scientists to be the loneliest number
We should plug our nationalism boners into nominal GDP instead.

These being the same economists who in 2008 said that everything was doing great, right?
Quick! Everybody move to China!
yeah man if it wasn't for those pesky unions, i could be working 20 hours a day maximizing profit for my corporate overlords.
I'm pretty sure he meant that those pesky unions should receive their living wages so that they would get back to work instead of outsourcing it.
How will this effect regular Americans and British in the long run? Should we be worried?

China's economy isn't fake, its just that there is somefucknormous inequality in terms of wealth over there so half the time the fruits of labor aren't apparent because only 5 guys have the fruit.
These being the same economists who in 2008 said that everything was doing great, right?
No actually economists have been saying China is a bubble for years now and when we (facepunchers) say that we regularly quote those economists. I've started multiple threads and posted in threads, describing in detail why the economy was a bubble, and how the Chinese government is attempting to fix this problem.
I'm pretty sure Swebonny is getting some insider information from a superior source like dailymail, fox or xinhua if he honestly thinks the whole world thinks China isn't a bubble.
Lmao at all these excuses from the Americans.

India also has a billion more people than you, like population has anything to do with it if you do it well :v:
Pop Ranking:
US: #3
UK: #22
You guys have almost 300,000,000 more people than us and we're still the 6th biggest economy.
