According to TheVerge, the rumored bundle will retail for $99.99, and include a 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect and a two-year warranty. If this deal sounds too good to be true, it is. This supposed bundle will be offered only at Microsoft Stores, and for good reason, you have to sign a two-year Xbox Live contract - which cannot be cancelled without invoking an early termination fee. Signing to this contract means that for the next two years you agree to pay $15 a month for Xbox Live on top of what you've already paid for the bundle. This means that the while the bundle itself is only $99.99 plus the additional $15 for the first month, adding those subsequent months onto the bill at the end of your two-year contract totals a whopping $460! Paying $360 just for two years of Xbox Live itself is a big rip off. If you buy two years worth of Xbox Live from your local retailer for $60 per card, you're only subject to a $120 total, adding a Kinect Bundle on top of that would make the total price equal out to $420+tax. However, if you're a smart shopper, you can easily find year-round deals where various online retailers offer a year of Xbox Live for only $36.99.If you opt for the cheaper method, you're only paying $374+tax. Compare both of these prices to the price that this rumor states and you're looking at $40-86 more. If this rumor does turn out to be true, then Microsoft has a lot of cash coming in their future.
and that's why it's cheap.
No, it's cheap because of the contract.
Oh, a contract. Just going to stick to buying rather "renting">
Yeah they advertise as $100 when really it's much higher than that and you make payments.
and that's why it's cheap.
Just like the Xbox 360 Arcade that had 256mb of storage.
4gb isn't enough to hold a fart. With BF3/BC2 it forces you to download the DLC even if you haven't bought it so you can't play online without downloading 5 gigs of stuff you don't even need.
It didn't sound like a bad idea, until the 4GB HDD. Come on, it needs atleast a 20GB.
I know MS aren't supposed to be announcing the new console this E3, but with all these discounts they must be.
It'd be decent enough if you were actually going to play it frequently, and the XBL carried onto their next console, I guess.
and that's why it's cheap.
You can get a 20gig HD for about $30. It's still a decent deal as far as hardware is concerned. Where they get you, along with every other 'service' in fucking existence in this country, is with a stupid contract
