Because many of them are illiterate and are told that their great imams have decided that it is allowed.
yeah this. you guys should watch the vice documentary on child suicide bombers (and child soldiers in general). they interview some of the al qaeda and taliban child suicide bombers and they haven't even read the quran, being told that only the imams are allowed to read it, they're just told all sorts of bullshit lies to get them to do this kind of fucked up stuff
lmao why are you guys acting surprised that an african nation has a well equipped and trained military?
Because Africa is very stereotypical poor continent and covered with famine and civil war. It's understandable if it's tough to imagine an African nation having an extravagant enough defense budget to buy weapon systems like the SCAR.

Kenya happens to be doing quite well for itself. Anyway, the SCAR is a competitor to the M16/M4 family, its priced accordingly. It hasn't been a super duper special project for the US army only for a very long time now.
This is how it went down
This is terrifying. Like, every time a shot went off my heart went deeper into a pit.
I keep reading the title as 'Daily Mail' shooting...
