No one liked Belgian Lorde?
I was hoping it'd win.
IIRC if it had been viewer votes only, Finland's PKN would've made it to the finals, but the judge votes were against us. Oh well, would've been interesting to see how they'd have fared. Congratulations to Sweden for winning.
Here's the Finnish entry in case anyone's interested:

Oh phew, I'm not the only one. I also thought of Lorde when I heard the song. It was pretty bad though haha.
We were just talking today at work how Eurovision has changed, years 2003 - 2008 were good because only votes from people mattered but since 2009 there is jury voting again. Group of 5 jury members give 50% of the points and rest comes from voting. Only reason we didn't see Finland in finals this year is because juries didn't like them at all. I didn't believe they would have made it far anyway but it would have been nice to see at least one crazy show in finals that would have stood up from the ballads and pop songs we hear every year.

1 Point from Serbia!
Yeah, it's dumb as fuck to have a jury. Why do they have a bigger say than the entire fucking country?

but that's because the judges are voting for the song, not for the people
as people, they've proven that even with disabilities, you can do a lot
but musically, it's not impressive

And yet Jedward have been Ireland's most successful act in quite a while, maybe third time would be the charm?

I still remember a shitstorm that some fuckwads brew after they thought that Lasha Tumbai was poorly hidden "Russia goodbye"

So Austria ripped of Ukraine.
The truth is Europeans hate us because they take Eurovision so seriously and we just laugh and joke about it like its nothing.......i can't remember the last time i met someone in the UK who actually cared about Eurovision other than to watch it because nothing else was on........bravo to Sweden though, i love the country.
I'm not from the UK and I'm late as fuck, but I share your feelings.
Now why don't they do this more often?
Well, Finland kind of did (again). In 2008 we had this:

But it didn't go as well. :v:
