I'd say 2005ish, it doesn't help with their intentional gritty style too.
Too little, too much late.
That one change is literally the ONE thing that the game needs to just be straight-up good because it's the entire core and source of all other problems in the game.
Well this is good, I guess..? Now there will just be a sea of gold letters in the chat box :I
I mean f2p graphics wise [t]http://webcdn.pathofexile.com/gen/image/YTozOntpOjA7aTowO2k6/MjthOjI6e3M6MjoiaWQi/O2k6MTk2O3M6NDoic2l6/ZSI7czo0OiJvcmlnIjt9/aToxO2k6NDt9/60ea8aab5e/act3teaser1.jpg[/t] it looks like it was made in the late 90's, and it turns me off
Game's still in development, and they're doing graphical updates on a semi-regular basis. For example, that picture is from before they even released Act 3, which was a good long while ago. The game has seen graphical improvements since then, especially in regards to player animations, models, and equipment graphics, and it will certainly continue to receive more as it develops. They haven't even released all of the main quest yet. I don't play a game like this for the graphics, but still, PoE would definitely benefit from further improvements. My biggest complaint isn't with the environment or character graphics; it's with the effects and sounds. Many of the attacks and abilities don't have a satisfying *punch* to them yet. The sound effects need a lot heavier impacts, you should hear the clang and clash and splatter of hacking away at stuff, the animations need to be a lot more brutal, and the spell/ability effects are need to look more dangerous and pretty. That's one thing D3 did really well. It was a pretty gorgeous looking game, and it just felt satisfying when you hit monsters. PoE still needs more work on that front.
