Kevin Conroy sadly won't be voicing Batman in new Arkham game

While it's true that Kevin Conroy is arguably the most famous of all the Batman VAs out there, I can get past that after a few minutes. I've seen a ton of Batman in my life and I can easily adjust to new voices.
They need to get someone who sounds like a young Conroy, at the least.
first Snake, then Garrett and now Batman?
they're all only stealth(ish) games. coincidence?
Arkham City was one of my favorite games of the past few years, but I feel dirty comparing it to MGS and Thief. Arkham's stealth is very, very fast paced, where the other two generally feel slower and more methodical.
No Rocksteady, no Mark, no Kevin. Oh boy, this could get nasty...
I'll still try the game, but with no Mark Hamill and no Kevin Conroy, new developer, multiplayer...
I just don't see it matching the likes of Arkham City.
I'd be suprised if Rocksteady can even match Arkham City.
I do so love Kevin Conroy but it's been shown that plenty of other VA's can pull Batman off just as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Ben McKenzie stepped up to the role, he's significantly younger than Kevin and already pulled off the amateur vigilante feel in Year One.

As an aside, I feel like Batman: Year One was more like "Commissioner Gordon: Year One."
Not that that's a bad thing. I recommend each of you go and watch that ASAP if you enjoy Batman.
First joker and now batman isn't VAing the next game? Son of a bitch!
get the kid from batman beyond to do it

I've always been a fan of the DCAU but I've never enjoyed Batman Beyond.
I hope it's Nolan North.

To be fair, this is a prequel, and Joker is probably very unlikely to have been active at the time.
If they dont get Kevin back for the Arkham City sequel, then we'll riot.

Will Friedle is too young-sounding.
ya now that I think about it he does sound too young
I've always been a fan of the DCAU but I've never enjoyed Batman Beyond.
I loved Batman Beyond, but Terry sounds too much like a Teenager, in this Batman is still meant to be an adult, just not a fully fledged Batman.
Guys what's the problem? We can just petition to get George Clooney to come back as Batman!
Agh my spleen
No no no, we simply must get Frank Welker to do it.
Maybe they'll get some new guy who does a really good job. I have never played a thief game, but the guy in the new trailer sounds really good to me; seems to fit the vibe.

the only DCAU shows you're allowed to dislike are static shock and the zeta project
everything else was amazing >:(

and it's got Bryan Cranston
and it's got Bryan Cranston
I loved Cranston as Gordon. Wasn't a huge fan of Batman's voice.

What's wrong with Static Shock?

I also thought that Justice League Unlimited was a massive step down from its predecessor.
Steve Blum should voice Batman.

DKR is the only Batman future I'm willing to accept.
gg

Batman Beyond's Terry McGinnis is the correct answer.
Get Diedrich Bader to do Batman's voice. He already voice acts as Batman in 'The Brave and The Bold.'
The guy who voiced Batman in Year One sounded nothing like Conroy yet it fit Batman well enough. At least it won't suck if anything.
Yesss, the Year One VA was fucking awesome.
What's wrong with Static Shock?
Nothing expressly, it just wasn't as good as the rest of the DCAU.

I thought it was a significant step up, personally. In the original JL series, with a cast of 7 characters, the writers were sort of obligated to include each one in every episode. And with 7 superheroes, that meant they spent most of the time fighting huge evil alien-monster-Lex-Luthor-blah-blah-blah whatever, and while it was good, I thought it got a little impersonal and repetitive at times.
The addition of a couple dozen more heroes in Unlimited actually let writers focus on just a few at a time, because obviously they weren't going to squeeze the entire roster into every episode. That meant more developed, more interesting characters, not to mention it let a lot of littler heroes like The Question and Green Arrow get some screentime. Unlimited had all the best episodes from the JL series, like "For the Man Who Has Everything," "The Once and Future Thing," "Epilogue," etc. Plus the whole Cadmus arc.

Oh and Hawkgirl actually grew a personality beyond "I HIT THING WITH MACE RAH"

I feel like the core cast and how every episode was a two-parter allowed the writers to create stories with more depth and focus. Episodes like Legends, The Savage Time, and especially Maid of Honor and Hereafter were great and more thought provoking than most of the episodes in Unlimited, which I felt were more like cheesy one-offs. Granted that the overarching plot in Unlimited with Project Cadmus and Amanda Waller was very interesting, I don't think it excused what I felt was, on average, a lower episode quality.
