Good riddance, they deserve the backlash. It's like jokes write themselves these days.
Thunderf00t actually has a degree in something?
the anti-"""SJW""" hysteria on facepunch is getting out of control (User was banned for this post ("Put more effort into your SH posts instead of just trying to stir up shit" - postal))
the anti-"""SJW""" hysteria on facepunch is getting out of control
lmao what is this conspiracy theory bs
the anti-"""SJW""" hysteria on facepunch is getting out of control
In what way? People are finally realizing how ridiculous radicals are jeopardizing the legitimacy of a movement and trying to criticize these people who are literally proposing segregation and guilty until proven innocent legislation at the United Nations is somehow "out of control"? Really?
Thunderf00t actually has a degree in something?
Hes a nuclear physicist and he is pretty much at the forefront of some research on Alkali metal reactions. BSc and PHD in chemistry.
the anti-"""SJW""" hysteria on facepunch is getting out of control
thanks for your input
the anti-"""SJW""" hysteria on facepunch is getting out of control
Your username sounds awfully like something I've heard of.

You can check his publications here http://65.54.113.26/Author/11865476/philip-e-mason Also relevant
Thunderf00t actually has a degree in something?
He's published.

Most universities do not have any sort of sociology/gender studies/other social issues requirement to graduate, and when you get to the levels of a doctorate, your schooling becomes even more specialized. There is a very good chance that because he has a PhD in a science field that he never took any sort of social issue course, thus making his relevance in the topic at the same base level as someone who never went to college. Again he could do extra research for his videos or whatever but just having a PhD does not make you an expert in all subjects.

You should see how phds in social science look like, it's pathetic. The only complaints about thunderf00ts videos about feminism/social issues, is that he tends to generalize a lot. That's pretty much it

The quote was more of a piggy back than a correction, sorry for the confusion! Also I don't know what you mean by PhDs in social sciences being pathetic. IMO all PhDs are respectable, there is no tier list of one person's PhD being more PhD-y than another person just because one got it in a STEM or medical field and the other got it in a more social field. They both show a mastery of their specific field and are a title that recognizes their hard work and dedication to the advancement of said feild.

You can tell when a person isn't dedicated to his profession and simply wants a ph.d title to add weight to their empty words. and I'm sorry but a phd in liberal arts/social sciences isn't equal to to a phd of precise sciences.

More like history where it's entirely possible that an interested person with no formal qualifications in the subject could have more knowledge and insight than someone with a gender studies degree etc. So his relevance on the subject is as good as anyone else's.
Thunderf00t makes enough money from youtube and pateron now that he could quit his research completely and go full time with youtube, but he doesn't. That's pretty good evidence of his credibility and dedication to his field, regardless of that you think of his views on feminism/social issues.
these "social justice warriors" are not warriors they should be called something else you know who was a warrior? Fleece Johnson AKA The Booty Warrior.

He's usually criticizing people like Zoe Quinn and Anita Sarkeesian, people that lie and mislead people to enrich themselves. People that are succeeding at what they are doing and getting famous for it. He's also critical of things such as Atheism+ and the type of people that create stuff like shirtgate and donglegate.
The counter-dox is harsh but maybe a good idea would be: Don't try to remove people from their content creation platform / source of income for essentially having opinions? He's just serving back what they attempted to dish out to him, only difference is he was successful.
You shouldn't fire or try to fire someone for what they do during there personal time.
the anti-"""SJW""" hysteria on facepunch is getting out of control
To be perfectly honest I didn't even notice there was any. Sometimes we talk about them because we're an forum... on the internet. Anyways, yeah, look at Bahar Mustafar or whatever she was called and how the guys that you're probably accusing of being hysterical defended her?
It's karma, "speak shit, get hit". And that's what happened to this "laughingwitch" lady.
True, but nothing is happening to her that she didn't try to do to him. She decided because of his opinions he shouldn't get to keep his job and now it's happening to her. It's retarded that any of this is even happening, it would be nice if the internet had a language other than death threats and swatting.
Kind of a "two wrongs don't make a right situation." Regardless of how petty and vitriolic LaughingWitch might be, throwing shit right back at her, and fucking with her husband, her family, and her employees by trying to bankrupt their business just isn't okay. I know SJW's are one of Facepunch's favorite boogymen, but Dr. Mason is just as much in the wrong as she is on this. [editline]/[/editline] Well, shit, I guess I don't really know now that I think about it. On the one hand, Mason's reaction seems petty to me, but on the other, business owners should be held culpable for what they do in the public sphere, and it's not as if he went out of his way to dig up shit on her. She put her real name and affiliations out there for everyone, making her actions a public declaration. In that light, I suppose she really did do this to herself. It's just a case of a business owner doing something stupid and/or controversial and facing public opinion backlash because of it, not unlike that shop that wouldn't make cakes for gay people, or Amy's Baking Company being awful to their employees on TV, or any other number of similar events.

It's like if someone throws a punch at you, you throw a punch right fucking back, that doesn't make you as bad as the person who threw the first punch, and the reason you do that, is that actions have consequences and someone throwing a punch getting one back helps show them you do not do that shit without reprecussions. And when the tables are turned like this, it shows people, on either side of any debate, that that shit aint good. How many people have SJW's tried to get fired out of their jobs for having an opposing opinion, how many have succeeded, maybe this will make them think twice.
Doxxing is never good, regardless of who's side you're on.
I would agree, but if you watch the video you'll see that one of those promoting the original "get Thunderf00t fired" campaign literally consented to the backlash and the others shown in the response video also said this kind of stuff was completely fine.

Are you being serious? She tried to paint him as a neo-nazi who hated women and tried to ruin his career, and he's been defending himself in a very collected way. How, exactly, is his reaction petty?

That's not defending himself, that's just counter-smearing. [editline]/[/editline] I mean, she ultimately did this to herself, I agree. I'm just not going to sit here cheering and whistling about him choosing to play her dumb game. The entire situation seems very silly to me. It's two extreme personalities butting heads over ultimately stupid shit.
Hey, youtube followers, go raid her business with negative reviews calling HER a Nazi! ??? She was directly trying to ruin him (and if he had any other type of job, he probably would be ruined by now), and all he did was point out the chink in her armor and the internet hatewagon that she already stirred up did the rest. She ruined herself.
