Pretty much.
Kellogs cereals were also developed to make boys stop masturbating.
People in the 19th century were weird.
Because it supposedly made boys stop masturbating.
It only hurts if you masterbate like 5 times within 30 minutes?
It really doest make any difference to your life at all... I was circumcised for medical reasons when I was a kid and I honestly couldn't give a shit. It's certainly not lacking in sensitivity.

To be honest, I'm not circumcised and it hurts when I masturbate 5 times in 30 minutes.
i hate it because when i was at school me and my friends would play "floppy or queer" where we would rub our dicks together and the first one to cum was beat up for being gay and because i was uncircumcised i was always first to pop my rocks and got beat on a daily basis and called "homo boy"

Somehow, I find myself doubting that.

Sounds like fun, though, minus the getting beat up part.
who honestly gives a flying shit about circumcision?
christ you'd think 90% of FP's userbase was in the business of discussing other men's dongs

Well for starters I care because if people would cut off baby girls' labia for aesthetic purposes, amnesty international would be flipping their shit, but it's somehow ok to mutilate little boys
that's a really shitty argument though
[editline]15th February 2013[/editline]
that theory relies on a lot of assumption, pal

Um, how do you know what could've been?

Assumption of what? You cut off a baby's foreskin, i.e. a part of its penis. WHAT EXACTLY is he assuming?

is this a joke or are you thick? let me screenshot the post i was replying to and you take a look at where you made your error

You're permanently removing a part of a baby's body with a sharp object in a painful fashion. How the fuck is that a theory that relies on a lot of assumption?
I only see one benefit to circumcision and that's the condoms are better for a circumcised dick :v:
poor foreskin, i know you didn't mean to get in the way but you do.
To be honest, I'm not circumcised and it hurts when I masturbate 5 times in 30 minutes.
This is a problem unrealated to circumsicion.

No, I'm not. It's a common practice to mutilate little boys but doing the same to little girls isn't.
Except that it's not really protection, how does it even make any sense, if anything, you should have an increased chance of getting an STD.
Unless, you think the stuff gathers up under the foreskin, which can happen, but should not happen, given that you're not a hideous fuck who only take a shower every 2 weeks.
Circumcision reduces the risk of contracting AIDS by 60-70%.
It's amazing how having/not having a wad of skin on your penis makes you better/less of a person.

They say so, but it doesn't make any god damn sense, there's no scientific proof, so why should I believe that.
To each his own, but I personally wouldn't fuck someone with AIDS, condoms do the trick well enough.

"i am right you are wrong despite the fact that there are concrete statistics that support both sides"
this quote could potentially apply to a lot of people in this thread, but i'd like to dedicate it specifically to Stopper, who is so upset by me playing devil's advocate on the topic at hand that he/she needs to express their anger by both rating all of my posts dumb and formulating an argument that completely ignores all evidence that so much as COULD undermine their position
I fail to see why this matters. If it still works, then I suppose thats all one needs to know. Doesn't matter if it has skin or not. To me anyway, a penis is a penis.
Guess it's something to deter people outside of Judaism from partaking such a ritual or whatever. Iunno.
Circumcised men have a reduced chance of contracting AIDS.
And reduced chances of contracting herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea, balanitis, and genital warts and ulcers. Also bladder infections.
Anyone know why this procedure became so prevalent in the states?
Lewis Sayre, the vice president of the American Medical Association, confirmed back in the 1870s that circumcision was an effective preventative procedure against bladder infections and syphilis (also phimosis, balanitis, and penile cancer- but we'd known that since the 1850s). People naturally accepted it because these were very serious medical issues at the time (with there being no antibiotics yet). Sayre's work made it a popular procedure in Britain and its dominions as well.
People started getting a little crazy about it though and claimed it could cure everything from kidney stones to insanity, sort of like what happened when cocaine and morphine became mainstream drugs (claims came out about them being able to cure everything from rheumatism to insomnia, etc.).
It was also done because people believed it would reduce masturbatory tendencies, that's true, but that was never the primary reason why it became as popular as it did.
AFAIK, they are doing it for aesthetics.
The dumbest reason of all.
Also all of this "Prevents infections, STDs and everything" is a stupid god damn excuse, if you'd wash your dick properly, you'd get the same benefits while having an uncut dick, if you can't bother to wash your dick, you don't deserve your dick.
uhm what? If anything it's backwards...
Less sensitivity=More time to reach climax
a) If me rating two of your posts 'dumb' is particularly jarring to you, maybe you need a bit of a break from Facepunch.
b) I was defending deltasquids' position which I agree with, not forming an argument.
c) I am not in any way "expressing my anger", but it's a nice periphrasis of 'umad bro'.
d) You haven't expressed any evidence which I might ignore.

Washing your dick prevents STDs? Lol, nice job pulling information from out of your ass. Also, it does decrease your chance of contracting STDS (I've read between 44-61% less of a chance- look on the CDC website).

Washing your dick after sex removes your STDs? Nope, never said that, and exactly how does being cut magically reduce chances of getting an STD?
It might seem that I said it'd remove STDs, nah, worded it pretty bad, but it sure as hell can prevent infections.
I grew up being tought that being circumcised is the normal thing everyone did, and I was circumcised when I was in 4th grade.
I grew up being tought that being circumcised is the normal thing everyone did, and I was circumcised when I was in 4th grade.
It might be done on the majority, but it doesn't mean it should be, it's pointless in most cases.
Nope, never said that, and exactly how does being cut magically reduce chances of getting an STD?
It makes the skin on your penis tougher. Because it's tougher, it won't suffer microtears during sex- which provide points of entry for bacteria and viruses.
Your foreskin's mucosal lining is also really vulnerable to bacteria and viruses; they can penetrate it and make it to your skin cells. It's especially vulnerable right after sex. With it removed, this is not an issue.

Makes sense, but no reason to get a painful operation done on you that somewhat reduces sensitivity.
I'd rather use a condom whilst keeping my foreskin.
