Clearly these is a difference in the way of life between here and an Islamic country. Here in the UK, do the vast majority of the population get up early for morning prayer? No. In Iran do large amounts of the population go out drinking on a Friday night? No. Different cultures, different ways of living.

Islam can work here, integration happens rather well in some area's, it's just the extremist die hard guys that ruin it for everyone else.

Any level-headed person who read my post would have realised that my comparison of Britain against Iran was to show how people [b]do[/b] lead their lives in different ways and thus have 'different ways of life'. In regards to the actual issue of Islam being compatible in the UK, it very much varies from person to person. Unlike a major Islamic country such as Iran, for example (I am allowed to use examples, aren't I? Or will you have another rant about it?), the UK allows the consumption of alcohol. As we have seen recently in the news, this is an affront to some Muslims who have even gone so far as to physically take alcohol from non-Muslims. That said, a video was posted on FP showing a Muslim defending the non-Muslims and denouncing the actions of those who force their views on others. Clearly, in the case of the former of these two types of Muslims that I mentioned, their way of life is [b]not[/b] compatible with the British way of life. On the other hand, the latter type of Muslim (who defended the non-Muslims), his way of life is compatable. So, is Islam compatable with the British way of life? Having our own "alien culture" is the whole reason the U.S. was founded, so that we wouldn't have to conform to British society. If we were entitled to it, why shouldn't the Muslims?
