conservatives aren't real people though
Are you trolling or something? I think conservatives are fucking nuts too but they're people, jesus
You serious? There's a huge difference between combat operations and practicing basic fucking risk management at a political rally.
well lets go off of objective facts then. we can pretend we know what he'll do in the future, but none of us do. so, lets look at what history has shown us. he runs away at the first sign of opposition. not a very presidential trait. not very strong.
If you support physical violence because the victims disagree with your policies, that classifies you as a textbook fascist.
And people are still surprised when I call groups like AntiFa fascists. Groups like them aren't any better than the Brownshirts or the Blackshirts, they are just on the other side of the political spectrum, which can easily be as radical and violence-embracing as them. The only reason groups like AntiFa get away with it, is because the left does actually approve of such groups, seeing as they refuse to call them out when they pull shit like this, and in some cases, even openly support them. Ennio Flaiano was right when he said that fascists and antifascists are the same.
conservatives aren't real people though
what are you DOING
well lets go off of objective facts then. we can pretend we know what he'll do in the future, but none of us do. so, lets look at what history has shown us. he runs away at the first sign of opposition. not a very presidential trait. not very strong.
Don't be an idiot. Starting a riot would have been stupid, and it seems quite possible that that's exactly what would have happened if the event wasn't called off. Trying to pin the blame on Trump for this just makes you look like a nutcase.
If you guys were stood infront of each other right now I envision you going at each other like that too. I bet this is happening all over the internet too, not just in Chicago.
what are you DOING
Going as far left as tea partiers go right, apparently. Horseshoe theory sure is neat.
im saying that he cant even stand up to some angry citizens (which is something a president must be capable of) so how can i expect him to stand up to the terrorists? i'll answer that. he can't, because hes weak. all bark, no bite.
So you're expecting someone who has no military, governmental, or policing power or position to contain a borderline riot lol? Fun fact: He doesn't have presidential powers he's just running for that position.
How in the name of holy fucking space Jesus can anybody think these kinds of views are remotely acceptable and should be tolerated? I'm sorry, but for democracy to exist, there need to be limits.
Please re-read what you just posted and tell me how is that democratic in the slightest. And most of all, tell me what these "limits" should be, who gets to estabilish them, enforce them, and what happens to people who commit the heinous crime of having the "wrong" opinion.
???
this can't be real
???
Trump comes in on his roller podium with airhorns blasting. "Ted, you're a mess."
I know you aren't going away. That's what scares me. Even when Trump is gone and all this bullshit is over, all of you people who think you have the right to control what other people think and say will still be here. Here's a little tip for you. The fascists knew they were right too.
Here's a little tip for you: you're being massively presumptuous, and you're also not making any goddamn sense. Personally, I don't give a shit about other people's beliefs... until that is they start trying to encroach on others with bullshit like legitimizing torture, stigmatizing people who've done nothing wrong with nationalistic and xenophobic rhetoric, etc. Doesn't matter to me whether it's that kind of stuff, or saying that gay people are terrible and are all going to be sent to hell and shouldn't be allowed to get married, or saying that prayer and Creationism must be enforced and standardized as part of our public education curriculum... Trump was in the wrong here to begin with, so were his supporters, and this reaction in Chicago is just natural pushback to the rhetoric he was peddling. People aren't just angry for no reason. It really isn't difficult to understand: people don't like it when you behave like a xenophobic, flag-waving asshole in the first place. Solution: don't behave like a xenophobic, flag-waving asshole. It's not rocket science. Honestly, I think Trump deliberately encouraged this because he wants people to fight back against him. He may very well have gotten more than he's bargained for though, in which case that's going to be poetic justice at it's finest.
So you're expecting someone who has no military, governmental, or policing power or position to contain a borderline riot lol? Fun fact: He doesn't have presidential powers he's currently running for that position.
no, i expect someone running to be leader of this country to be able to stand up for himself when people disagree with him. not run away and come back when there wont be people to tell him no.
well lets go off of objective facts then. we can pretend we know what he'll do in the future, but none of us do. so, lets look at what history has shown us. he runs away at the first sign of opposition. not a very presidential trait. not very strong.
Its more presidential to "slay the course" and allow tons of people to get needlessly hurt in a massive riot than it is to not have the rally that caused the riot and avoid more damage? Huh. Thats weird, I guess allowing people to get hurt is presidential.
conservatives aren't real people though
where have i heard this rhetoric before...
at least im just a nut case on a forum, and not running for president
have enough dignity and self respect to care when you're clearly and demonstrably wrong, jesus christ
no, i expect someone running to be leader of this country to be able to stand up for himself when people disagree with him. not run away and come back when there wont be people to tell him no.
It's a dumb idea to hold a rally when you have shit like what happened in Chicago today going on. Trump himself can't stop a riot, and the people going to the rally wouldn't be safe with what's going on around there. This isn't people telling him no, you act like they're only using words when it's gone as far as apparently shots being fired.
So much edge going on around here lol
nice to see people already trying to justify the violence
So much edge going on around here lol
Ironic.
physical violence is a pretty extreme way to tell someone 'no' I loathe Trump as much as many others do but I don't really think it reflects of Trump as a weak leader if he backs down from a metaphorical gun to his chest and instead tries to hide. In fact, that seems pretty.... yknow... normal. Yknow, sane. I'd do the same thing. I bet you would too.
It's also the sane thing to do when you are trying to get democratically elected. Hell, I think that some people are mighty disappointed that Trump didn't call for violence against protesters. You can pretty much hear their narratives collapsing left, right and center right now.
-snip-
More emergencies at A&E apparently Protests at the hospital. Not specified whether (at least 10) they're protesting there or injured

I don't care if you think Trump is wrong. He and his supporters have a right to express their opinion. He encouraged it because he knows that this bullshit just makes him stronger. And luckily, there are plenty of gullible idiots like you who are willing and eager to act exactly as he wishes. It doesn't matter how much faith you have in your own righteousness. You do not have the right to silence other people. Full fucking stop.
According to the radio chatter there are protesters that are now heading towards the hospital emergency room.
It ain't like Trump could have convinced anybody there to vote for him anyway Peacefully or not, Chicago (or at least that part of it) has already demonstrated to Trump that they don't want to hear what he has to say. What's he going to do? Show up anyway, ask "eh, come on, why don't you guys like me?" He'd be preaching to some other church's choir here. Why bother trying to talk to people who are just going to ignore you and start yelling/throwing punches? Trump deciding "fuck that" and going elsewhere is actually a reasonable decision, as much as I hate admitting it
You don't like someone's policies? Beat them at the voting booth. That is democracy. Vandalizing property and assaulting people with different views is fucking fascist bullshit that has absolutely no place in the US.
Their views are fucking fascistic to begin with. Again, this is nothing more than natural pushback. Where have you been exactly? Don't act shocked when people don't react well to a xenophobic bombastic asshole like Trump. Again, with their views: legitimizing torture, killing the families of ISIS fighters regardless of whether or not they did anything wrong, calling Mexicans rapists and saying they bring nothing but crime with them, also the ridiculous proposition that building a gigantic wall along the border will solve the "Mexican problem"... What part of any of this sounds remotely acceptable to you? Go ahead and tell me, and give me reasons why. I want to know, because you're going awfully far out of your way to defend some pretty hateful motherfuckers (and their equally hateful views) who like to talk a tough game and make all these accusations and cause trouble when there previously wasn't any. Jesus it's like arguing with children that can't logically process two contradicting concepts simultaneously. I basically want to see this turn out to be our American Cable Street. In any case, Trump needs to be opposed, as do his followers. And these hordes of people thankfully have sense enough to agree and see the necessity. The protesters do at least. Good for them.
